Yoyo Glove redirect

Can someone please explain to me why Yoyo Glove Redirects here? As far as I can tell, they are separate items. Mew4ever23 (talk) 18:11, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Terra Blade yoyo, yay! 209.43.7.130 14:21, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Notes or other section like achievement addition.

What can't there be an edit to state that you can obtain the achievements sick throw and throwing lines at the same time if you gave yet to use a yoyo Skybreaker8769 (talk) 15:54, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

It isn't necessary, as those are already listed under Achievements. – Ferretwings (talk) 21:02, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Sneak upgrade of the Terrarian?

Just been playing the game again lately, and today I've just got a Terrarian with no mods, straight from the Moonlord in Normal mode. Stats were : Damage 239, crit 16%, and quality Purple. See here: Terrarian base Purple quality.jpg

Did I miss a sneak upgrade? Or something else? Meanwhile, I've edited the page, please don't hesitate to revert my changes if I messed something up.

Did you make sure to un-equip all armor and accessories and cancel all buffs? All values are taken directly from the source code (including the rarity), hence you likely experienced a bug. For my part I fail to remember getting an un-modified Terrarian with Purple rarity. I reverted the edits. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 13:17, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Oh, you are right, I had no idea an item could switch quality color just with the buffs from the inventory. And as you said, the base stats were the ones mentioned originally, which are indeed directly modified in the display according to the worn bonuses. I didn't know that, sorry for the trouble. - ZeBix78 7 February 2019
No worries, no harm was done! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 16:53, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Again, YOYOS CANNOT OBTAIN THE LEGENDARY MODIFIER.

Sick of having to update wikis every day because some edits a page *cough* The Terrarian saying it can get the Legendary modifier. C h e e s e (talk) 17:31, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

I've replaced the text with the proper template. Hopefully nobody messes with it. --172.58.175.67 17:34, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
This is WRONG. Try reforging it in 1.4.0.4 and it will eventually get the Legendary modifier. I would upload a screenshot but can't be bothered to make an account just for that. (EDIT: It get's +17% damage ; +8% crit ; +17% knockback, this looks very much like Godly but a bit stronger) -- 95.90.214.149 23:44, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
I looked into the code of the game a bit and in Terraria.Item.Prefix(int pre) there is a check if the item is the Terrarian and if so it is possible to get Prefix ID 84 (Legendary is usually 81). This is displayed as Legendary but there are slightly different effects (see above). -- 95.90.214.149 00:19, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Legendary Reforge.png Here's an image. Stop turning it back, Legendary is real for at least the Terrarian. Somebody else test the other Yoyos for me, I'm changing the wiki page to say that Legendary is the best prefix now. ImmortalZypther (talk) 00:29, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Terraria 2020-05-28 20-31-33.png More proof. ImmortalZypther (talk) 00:35, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

I see no mention in the changes of 1.4 stating that it can get the Legendary modifier. It might be overkill, but hell, those might be screenshots of a modded version, or even fake screenshots. Until I have been proven wrong, I insist that the Terrarian CANNOT get the Legendary modifier. Plus, why would they only add it to one yoyo, and not all of them? It makes no sense. C h e e s e (talk) 21:23, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

It's been verified in the source code: Item.cs line 993, reforge checks whether the item is ID 3389, which is the Terrarian, which increases the number of possible random modifiers to include modifier #84, which is "Legendary2". I hope we can consider the matter closed. Equazcion (talk) 21:29, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Hm, strange. You can’t actually get it from reforging. Maybe it’s an unobtainable item? C h e e s e (talk) 21:30, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

If it were unobtainable it wouldn't be coded that way. Unobtainable means stats or graphics exist but there's no code to actually provide it; however the code I refer to is what does cause the game to provide it. Equazcion (talk) 21:33, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Terrarian legendary proof.png
Can indeed be obtained through reforge. Only took me 3 tries. Equazcion (talk) 21:38, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
The fact that it can become a Legendary Terrarian is possibly due to the fact that OneDrop released the Legendary Terrarian. — Philo04 21:57, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
If you want more proof of it existing, download the Builder's Workshop map and reforge it yourself. 3 people in this thread have found that the Terrarian can get the Legendary modifier, 2 of which have responded with their findings in the source code with one of the users being an administrator on this wiki. tModLoader possible addon to Trivia section?

I feel like a nod to the "Terrarian?" item in tModLoader should be added: "In tModLoader, the only official version of Terraria that supports mods, there is a special version of the Terrarian that is crafted from a singular dirt block on April Fool's Day. This item inflicts a few cosmetic debuffs, but is otherwise useless. It does not function as a Yo-Yo, and cannot receive modifiers." This can be touched up if needed, my wording is simply an example. I wasn't completely sure if this was a good edit, so I put it in the talk page instead. I hope that's OK. One final note: this is included with the base version of tModLoader. It is not a mod in itself. Thus, I don't personally think it violates the guideline "No information on any Terraria mods or other third-party software except what is already listed on their respective pages," because tModLoader itself is not a mod, and is official DLC for Terraria. Roshibomb (talk) 19:30, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

That seems fine by me, thanks for bringing it up. I've added a sentence to the Trivia section that is based on the tModLoader page (which should remain the principal source of information about that item). --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:44, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Error in tips

I notice the singular tip in the Tips section is labeled for Old-Gen Console and 3DS, in addition to 1.3Tmod. Last I checked, YoYos exist in neither Old-Gen Console nor 3DS. Could someone fix this? Idk how lol sorry. WhatAboutDustbunny (talk) 03:02, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
