Fragment Tool Not Appearing

i hacked in the fragment tools, they didnt appear in my inventory. at all... idk what is up with that... Luigirox901 (talk) 12:23, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

What's the point of the new unobtainable gear?

Why did they make them at all for the patch if they're just going to be pointlessly unobtainable? 73.130.45.109 04:15, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

The team has said that the hammers, axes, and chainsaws were made before they realized it would be more convenient to have hamaxes. I don't know why the drills are unobtainable, though. –KM100 (talk) 04:19, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

developer gear made obtainable?

Since the developer gear is now obtainable, shouldn't it be deleted from the page? Or is that supposed to be information specific to the mobile and console versions? If so, it isn't very clear. Also, what is the difference between unobtainable and unimplemented items? Mythteller (talk) 17:21, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

There isn't a significant difference at the moment. Just based on context, unimplemented items should be things that appeared in prerelease screenshots but aren't found in the game code at all, while unobtainable items are things that exist and can be edited in, but are not obtainable through normal gameplay. This would make the Phasic Warp Injector, which doesn't exist in a completed state, the only item correctly described as "unimplemented". Thanks for pointing this out in general- on the whole, it seems like information on unobtainable items is below standard. The table appears to have been vandalized, and as a result the indication that dev clothes were removed from the mobile version is broken, but I'm personally not sure if they've been removed entirely. Further, many existed in 1.2.4.1, but all their individual pages have a history entry indicating that they were implemented in 1.3. Gearzein (talk) 20:45, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Fountain?

Do we have a gif of the unobtainable Fountain? -- Ferretwings (talk) 22:30, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Mobile and 3DS from old gen console.

It says that you cannot get the informational accessories including the watch (I think it was missing one too) isn’t eh section that included old gen console. I think those should be moved to their own section Theextroardinary (talk) 16:55, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for noticing this. I've split into another section. - Murrayzero (talk) 17:03, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

"ItemName.Fake_newchest1" & "ItemName.Fake_newchest2", #s 3705 & 3706

Found them in Terrasavr; can someone look more into these? Thx - Rhinozzgamezz (talk) 18:48, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Trapped Chests. We already discussed about these and the results were (once) here. See this change. Murrayzero (talk) 19:03, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Edit: Video Added.
Item icon is the basic crafted wooden Chest with a red dot in the bottom right corner. "ItemName.Fake_newchest1" has the side texture of the Crystal Chest and "ItemName.Fake_newchest2" has the front texture of the Golden Chest. When the chests are clicked on or hovered over, the player cannot move but animations like wings flapping are still shown. Rhinozzgamezz (talk) 19:33, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Since Terrasavr is 1.3.5, the items must have been removed in either 1.3.5.1, 1.3.5.2, or 1.3.5.3. I'll see if I can pinpoint which one. – Ferretwings (talk) 20:27, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
That's why, thanks! Rhinozzgamezz (talk) 19:33, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
After checking the game code, I saw that the code and ids for those chests still exists. The chests are only obtainable through inventory editors. Thanks for pointing it out to us. I've added it to the page. – Ferretwings (talk) 05:28, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, those exist. They got resprited to marble chests. 46.251.80.110 12:32, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

i have the sdmg because of homebrew allowing me to save edit, but otherwise it in unobtainable. this should be noted. 172.89.46.33 10:54, 28 January 2020 (UTC) WeiFi

New unobtainable item

'Unknown' item id 4722 I found this while using Terrasavr, it looks like the Terra Blade but is shaped slightly differently. Disappears when edited into inventory. Destroyededge (talk) 17:21, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

The First Fractal has an item ID of 4722. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 17:44, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Musings on Items 3978 and 5013

3978 - Close proximity to Leinfors' set and sprite identical to Unicorn Wisp Dye leads me to believe this was Leinfors' Dye. Likely not implemented due to existence of Leinfors' Luxury Shampoo

5013 - Sprite matches the 3 Z's shown when mousing over a bed to sleep. Interactable furniture typically shows its sprite when mousing over to interact. Dressers, which have two interactable components, use the Familiar Shirt sprite when mousing over the character recolor portion. When beds were given a 2nd interactable component for sleeping, a new sprite and consequently id were required to depict a sleeping action as previously existing sprites did not convey this clearly as the Familiar Shirt did for dressers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CassiusBenard (talk • contribs) at 15:59, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

So, I dug into the game's code, and it looks like 3978 has an associated shader named "ColorOnly", which sets the player's sprite to a solid color and is used for drawing the player head outlines on the minimap. My guess is that the item was used for testing this effect. --Eraloiz (talk) 15:34, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

"Unobtainable items" vs. "Unobtainable features"

The fact that there are some non-item game features which fit the category of "unobtainable" implies the page should be renamed into "unobtainable features" or similar. Examples include Heart Shrine (biome feature), Chinese New Year (event), Mc MoneyPants (NPC), and Mythical Wyvern (enemy). Does anyone have any opinions on this? NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 12:39, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

I think that would work. On a somewhat irrelevant note, I think that the heart shrine (and some other stuff) should not be listed as unobtainable/removed, as I have said here, but ultimately that doesn't matter in the scope of this discussion. I support this, sorry for the large amount of words utilized to make my point. — Godslayerchickennugget (talk | contribs) 12:45, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the input. After looking at the "Windows Mobile-exclusive content" on the Mobile version article I've similarly wondered if there should be separate Windows Phone, Android, and iOS categories (or maybe Windows Phone vs. Android/iOS) to make it clearer where content is obtainable or not. Although the 'practical' value of such info is limited since the entirety of using Windows Phone is becoming outdated as we speak, I still think it would benefit the wiki. I reckon making such categories would require a bit of work though. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 13:33, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Late reply, sorry, I was working on the Terraria Mods Wiki. I think the main things would be to add functionality to {{exclusive}}, and create new categories for Windows Phone-exclusive items/features/whatever. {{eicons}} already has support for all icon types, so that's already finished. I think it would also require updating Module:Exclusive/data to include Windows Phone. — Godslayerchickennugget (talk | contribs) 16:21, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Good catch on pointing out those pages; if you're correct it might not be that difficult after all. Still, this will require aid of a wiki administrator as {{exclusive}} is protected (I do not hold admin status). Moreover, template code is not really my forte; suitable contributors could do a much better and faster job than me in this matter. If anything I've tried making an edited version of Module:Exclusive/data here where I've used "WINPHONE" (can probably be shorted to "w" or something) as Windows Phone parameter after comparing this, this, and this page to determine what content is available on the Windows Phone version. For now I'll just request some admin attention here. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 13:45, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
