Not to be confused with Torch God's Favor.

The Torch God's Flavor is a buff potion which grants the Torch Blessing buff when consumed. The buff automatically converts placed Torches near the player to their biome variant, corresponding to the biome the player is in. This lasts for 8 minutes, but can be canceled at any time by right-clicking the icon (Desktop version), by selecting the icon using Cycle Next/Previous Buff and then pressing Remove Buff (Console version), or by double-tapping the buff icon (Mobile version).

Notes

  • While the Torch Blessing buff is active, all Torches within a rectangular area of 120×67 tiles centered on the player's center[1] are constantly checked for whether they match the biome that the player is in. Flame projectiles fly from the player to each Torch that does not match, converting it to the biome variant on contact.[2]
  • Torch Blessing will only convert regular and biome Torches, as listed below. Any other type of Torch will be left as-is.

  1. The player's center is determined by the center of their hitbox, which is 42 pixels high and 20 pixels wide. If we consider the player takes up a 2-tile-wide×3-tile-high area, the player's center will be located at the middle tile in the left column of the 2×3 area when the player is standing exactly at the center of 2 tiles.
  2. Information taken from the Desktop version Desktop 1.4.5.3 source code, method TorchGodsFlavor() in Terraria.Player.cs. There may be inaccuracies, as the current Desktop version Desktop version is 1.4.5.5.
