Purchasing Anvils

You purchased the Lead Anvil from the Merchant? Are both the Iron Anvil and Lead Anvil available for purchase at the same time? Or does it depend on the ore generated on that world? – Ferretwings (talk) 15:47, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

It is chosen at random, the anvil type in the shop resets every day I think —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟ (talk) 14:36, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Presents

In Mobile version Mobile version, Presents dropped from Present Mimics cannot be opened? – Ferretwings (talk) 13:50, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

This was definitely the case before, but I am not sure if Present Mimic presents behave like this currently. I have a mobile device at my disposal so I will check if presents still behave like this. Awesome diamonds (talk) 13:56, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Interesting... The Present Mimic does not drop anything except hearts and coins! I will edit the page to show only console/desktop for the present drop. However, the 3DS version is older and may need confirmation as to whether the present furniture drops from Present Mimics. Awesome diamonds (talk) 14:06, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Did you change your date to Christmas? – Ferretwings (talk) 14:18, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

So, other enemies are dropping presents, but not the Present Mimic? – Ferretwings (talk) 16:54, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

I have managed to find 3 of them, but none of them dropped presents yet... I'll keep looking Awesome diamonds (talk) 17:18, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Sorry didn't answer your question; the enemies are dropping presents. I suspect that the Present Mimic will drop a present with the chance of any other enemy eventually, but I don't think it's a 100% chance. Awesome diamonds (talk) 17:20, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Easter

Once Lepus has been defeated, Diseaster Bunnies and Corrupt Bunnies will no longer drop the Suspicious Looking Egg? – Ferretwings (talk) 23:30, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Diseaster Bunnies will but it seems Corrupt Bunnies won't Awesome_Diamonds 23:31, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
Ok. If Lepus is defeated, will Diseaster Bunnies stop spawning during Easter? (I'm just trying to make sense of the Seasonal event page) – Ferretwings (talk) 23:54, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
Yes Awesome_Diamonds 23:56, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Frost Staff

An editor wrote "On the mobile version, the frost staff is Obtainable before hardmode, as it is dropped by ice bats."

Can you confirm? – Ferretwings (talk) 16:53, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

I do know that I have never had an ice staff drop from an ice bat in my time playing Terraria, but I am not entirely sure, since I may have just been unlucky. I would put a {verify} on it. Awesome_Diamonds 23:43, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Template:Template

Not to burst your bubble, but…
I noticed that you were working on a template linking template and I just wanted to notify you of {{tl}}. It seems to function identically to what you were aiming for (based on the current documentation, at least) so I thought you might not know of it yet. 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 21:14, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks! Should I delete the Template:Template then? Or would it be a destructive edit —Awesome_Diamonds 21:16, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
It's probably best to make it a redirect since {template} also works as a name for {tl} as well. :^) 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 21:25, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Use of eicons|Ocram

I noticed you using {{eicons|Ocram}} on some pages as, what I'm guessing is, a shortcut to adding mobile+console+3DS icons. It seems like a way of creating a mess in the long run, and confusing other editors, some of which probably don't even know what Ocram is. Any particular reason for using it? 86.115.19.146 19:42, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

I've now created a Console-Mobile-3ds icon. I agree, using eicons in that way can be very confusing to editors, lol! Myself included! ;) – Ferretwings (talk) 20:26, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, I was using eicons|Ocram so that when 1.3 came out the icons would fade out one by one, good idea creating 3DS console mobile icon—ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟ (talk) 15:48, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
But Ocram won't be loosing it's exclusivity status when update hits? It might just get some sort of oldgen/removed flag(I haven't been paying attention to proposed edits page, sorry) which eicons doesn't have yet. And even if template won't add icons, template call itself would still need to be removed from wikitext(which I suppose could be automated)?
Anyway, anything is fine by me(not that anyone needs my approval) as long as you know what you're doing, I was just wondering if it was a personal shortcut or an accidental copy/paste or something because I haven't noticed it used that way before. Sorry for calling attention to it, and taking everyone's time again. 86.115.19.146 16:38, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
No, it’s fine, it was a good thing you brought this to the communiy's attention. I might end up adding an <!-- Invisible Note --> so that people will not get confused. —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟ (talk) 17:21, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
Update: An Invert param was since added to Eicons and all other dependent Exclusive templates, allowing for the removal of this Ocram usage. —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 20:58, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Um, dude, that's *my* sandbox.

The point of starting that guide in my own sandbox (rather than in-place, or even in the global sandbox), was so I'd be able to do a first pass without worrying about other editors. I'm not mad (especially since your edits happened to be between my runs, so no harm done), but someone else might well have taken offense. As it happens, I've now taken that almost as far as I can (because I haven't done Plantera myself yet), so once I flesh out the last couple of bit, I'll move it into guidespace. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 23:27, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Right now eversions is still somewhat broken, if target page doesn't have 3DS content, i2 evaluates to error message and things just falls through #switch to defaults. You're also declaring #default wrong, causing #switch to not output anything in those cases.
{{eversions|1.3.0.1}} --> Desktop version Desktop version, Console version Console version, and Mobile version Mobile version // i2 = Expression error: Missing operand for +.
And even though this isn't a likely use case, still:
{{eversions|Headless Horseman Banner}} --> Desktop version Desktop version, Console version Console version, Mobile version Mobile version, and Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version
    86.115.19.146 05:15, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

I’ll make sure to look at test2, it seems as if the code is pretty sound. I knew I had definitely missed something there, didn’t realize any page was desktop-3ds...
One thing I’ll modify a little is the “and” output, because, well... let’s say code can be really annoying sometimes when it comes to punctuation and grammar —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 15:37, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
It appears a major problem was that all of the #switch functions activated no matter what, even if the version wasn’t there. I think it’s fixed, if there’s any issues feel free to edit —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 13:41, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

    Recipes

There is a project that I've been putting off for some time, and I'm wondering if you are just the person to take it on. You seem pretty comfortable with code, otherwise I wouldn't mention it. I've recently had an extension installed to the wiki called Cargo. It is specifically designed to create databases. I wish to begin creating a recipe database on each craftable item's page. This project will take a long time, lol, and you are always looking for ways to improve the wiki (which I appreciate), but sometimes you make my head spin! Anyway, here is a link to the extension so you can take a look at it: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Cargo I'm also going to send you an invite to a help group. If you feel it's too much, I'll understand. But our current system for storing recipes is flawed, and it's slowly been driving me nuts. – Ferretwings (talk) 06:48, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Could you unblock your email for a day, so I can send you the link? – Ferretwings (talk) 06:55, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
There are some wikis already using the Cargo extension. https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Template:Infobox_conflict&action=edit has one example of how it's done. – Ferretwings (talk) 07:13, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Cargo seems like a cool extension, I’ll check what’s up with my email, not sure why it’s blocked. —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 13:30, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
MediaWiki was a bit confusing with their description, so If I have this correct: Cargo is a data-storing extension which allows for infoboxes?

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Also, here’s the email (couldn’t figure out how to get it on my userprofile, so I just put it here with user filter): (Nevermind, just go to UserProfile:Awesome diamonds for the email, so that people can’t see the code)
    ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 14:07, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Also one other question: could the templates {{history}}, {{stub}}, and {{item infobox}} be updated with the changes made in their sandboxes and editcopies (since they’re protected)? —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 14:59, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

    Turkor and Formatting

A couple things, here. First of all, the behavior you described happening with Turkor is entirely normal (minus the spine). The body isn't supposed to have "infinite" defense, it's supposed to have enough defense to make it not worth attacking with pre-Hardmode weapons. Also, if you manage to drop the body's health to 2/3 or 1/3 while heads are still alive, the extra heads will appear instantly. It seems like the page could have described that better, so sorry for the confusion.

No, I’m sorry for the confusion. The way I explained it was a bit iffy —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 23:04, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Secondly, I've noticed you've been making a couple of formatting changes that end up leaving huge areas of white space. Are you using a mobile device or a small monitor? If that's the case, I'd recommend using the mobile view, as the desktop view is designed to look better for medium-to-large monitors (seen here).

Using small monitor, sorry about that —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 23:04, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

As a last note, always make sure the page you're editing looks correct using the "show preview" button before saving changes, otherwise you might end up confusing readers who access the page while you're still working on it. – KM100 (talk) 22:16, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

I’ll make sure to use that next time, sorry for the confusion again —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 23:04, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

    Signature

Hey there -- thanks so much for all your recent work on Terraria Wiki! I do have to ask though that you stop using a transcluded template as your signature. This is in Terraria_Wiki:Rules#Signatures. Transcluded signatures can put undue strain on the server. You can use a subst'd signature (subst: must be in your profile's signature line), as long as the resulting code placed on the page is less than 256 characters. Please make this change sometime in the next day or so. Thanks! Equazcion (talk) 14:55, 9 Nov 2017 (UTC)

I think that the use of includeonly and SUBST was able to fix the problem. Thanks for giving me a heads up! —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk
Awesome Diamonds, what exactly does your signature line look like at Special:Preferences? – Ferretwings (talk) 15:57, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
{{SUBST:User:Awesome diamonds/Signature/Code}}, I think a double SUBST is what is causing the glitch with the sig —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」16:07, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

It seems fixed now, all instances of {{SUBST:User:Awesome diamonds/Signature}} should be gone and replaced with the <256 character sig —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 16:15, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for taking care of that :) Equazcion (talk) 20:30, 9 Nov 2017 (UTC)
No problem, thank you again for notifying me (also put the wrong inequality sign there, fixed) —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 02:04, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Also one more question: Is my signature still within guidelines in terms of display? It links to User:Awesome diamonds, but displays as Awesome_Diamonds. It says on the guidelines page that for User:BillSimpson, even BillySimpson is unacceptable. Thanks again for looking into it! —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 02:08, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

    *Modifier* The *item* 3DS

Hello, are you certain that the modifier name bug exists on the 3DS version? I only own the PC version, so I am unable to test it. HnZ88 (talk) 16:48, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

I don’t own a 3DS, but I know that Console version Console is the only version where it’s fixed —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 16:50, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

    On the saleability of squirrels:

According to the Critter page, critters can be sold on desktop and console, but not mobile. Console does cherry-pick some of the newer features. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 02:04, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

So should it be split between desktop-console and mobile-3ds? Or should I just leave the mobile icon as is —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 04:02, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
Well, this is certainly where replacing everything with "version 1.3.0.1" breaks down. The multiple platform icons aren't actually redundant, since each of them can still have some platform features or gaps. (Similarly, IIRC mobile has graphical limits, I think they're discussed in "Dyes".) So even if the 1.3.0.1 thing mostly works, you still need to use the separate icons for cases like this. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 12:13, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

    Banners (decorative)

Hello, Awesome diamonds. You removed the verification need on Banners (decorative) about faction banners not affecting spawn rate. This edit by User:KM100 claims otherwise. I added the verification need due to mismatched information. If you have indeed confirmed that the banners do not affect spawn rate then also please change Dungeon Brick Wall. If the opposite is true, please fix Banners (decorative). HnZ88 (talk) 15:21, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

I can confirm that it doesn't affect spawns, I'll make the necessary edits. Thanks for notifying me about the conflict! —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 18:31, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

    Queen bee

I am at version 1.3.5. I went to jungle, spawned it naturally. Died to it and it didn't come to at spawn (waited 5 min). Then i went found another bee hive, recalled when summoned and saw on minimap, how the boss disappeared at the border of jungle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VanSylman (talk • contribs) at 18:07, March 2, 2018‎ (UTC)

    Placeable ores

I had copied it, but not verbatim – in fact one of the fields I adjusted was placeability. I somehow thought that as in minecraft, ores could not be placed once mined. After looking at your edit, I finally realised what all the square tiles next to the inventory icons were... I feel silly now.

I might have to include a few of those placed sprites in the infobox, so thanks for pointing out the mistake! Techhead7890 (talk) 11:58, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

No, it’s fine, we all make mistakes (in my case, some really bad ones...). Thanks for revamping the boxes, looks better now. :) —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 17:24, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

    Interwiki Links

Hey! I noticed you placed an empty space before the interwiki links on this page. Seeing as I add these links all over the place, I thought I'd ask if you all prefer any particular formatting when it comes to interwiki links. I'd be happy to adapt to the English wiki's preferred format. Usually, I try to alphabetize them using the two letter system (de before en before fr, etc). Additionally, I know that the translation projects template goes after the interwiki links.

In any case, if I make a formatting mistake in general, please let me know. Thanks! PuzzledKino (talk) 00:02, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

Oops, I think I may have misinterpreted your edit - sorry. Not sure why I thought you'd adjusted the spacing hehe. If you do have any thoughts on the matter though, please feel free to let me know. :] PuzzledKino (talk) 00:29, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
Small clarification: actually, you removed the empty space, as opposed to adding one. Sorry again ahaha. PuzzledKino (talk) 01:22, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
(Ping just in case) Apologies for such a late reply, but I'm fine with the links being anywhere (under the Master Template(s) of course). I remove whitespace for slightly cleaner code, but it's not really too much of an issue —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 15:27, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
Oh, not at all -- you've responded very quickly! Thank you for getting back to me. I'd been inserting a blank space just to make it a bit easier to read/catch typos (at least for me), but I don't mind making this adjustment. Have a nice day! PuzzledKino (talk) 18:06, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

    Maces

Hi! I've seen you edit the maces and I noticed you turned the damage back to 9. It appears that they changed the stats in one of the recent patches and the damage display of all flails seem to be doubled. Here are screenshots I took earlier today for proof. Just wanted to let you know! :)

A bug revolving sunflowers at night.

This happened while I was playing in game and it is a visual bug. If you look at the left in the picture you will see the bug, I captured this photo as soon as I saw the bug and came here to bring it to you, this is in 1.14 Mobile Terraria. This bug only appeared because I drank a hunters potion, doing this copied the brightness of the sunflowers and pasted them higher up in the air! This has happened both times I tried it. I will continue to repeat this process and see if it continues happening.Xthemathwhiz (talk) 19:24, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

    Multiplayer bug

A bug that is keeping me from playing multiplayer. Okay, this has been going on for up to a year now and it is keeping me from playing with my friend on local multiplayer. So me and my friend would do everything that you would normally do to play with each other on terraria, we go on multiplayer, either my friend or I join the world, then my friend waits for it to pop up, but then all of the sudden, it would never show up, and this has happened through 1.3 mobile edition in terraria, all the way up to 1.4 terraria mobile edition. It is driving me insane that I can’t play with my friend. PLEASE fix this in the 1.4.1 mobile edition in terraria, I’m begging.Xthemathwhiz (talk) 16:38, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
