Value is what is described as the monetary worth of an item. If sold by an NPC, it will also be the price the NPC sells that item for. When selling, items are always sold for 1/5 (20%) of the purchase price, rounded down. The rounding can lead to confusion about the exact price of items. Existing modifiers can also change an item's value.
The Goblin Tinkerer charges one third of any item's current value to reforge, which is approximately 1.67× its sell price.
Example
A Musket Ball has a value of 7 CC.
- Selling a single Musket Ball will return 1 CC. One Musket Ball has a value of 7 CC and 7 / 5 = 1.4 CC. After rounding, the result is 1 CC.
Notes
- Item prices can be decreased by equipping a Discount Card or Greedy Ring(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), and on Desktop, Console, and Mobile, prices can also be higher or lower based on the NPC's happiness level. On this wiki, the value displayed in an item's infobox is always the base value, unaffected by these two factors.
- (Old-gen console version) The Ruler is an exception: It is sold for 33 SC, which is one third of its price (1 GC) instead of one fifth.
History
- Desktop 1.0.6.1: Changed the way the value of stacked items is rounded to fix selling/buyback inconsistencies.
