Wood armor is a pre-Hardmode armor set consisting of the Wood Helmet, Wood Breastplate, and Wood Greaves.

It is the least powerful set of armor in the game, making it only useful very early on. It can be crafted almost immediately after spawning, as it only requires Wood to make, which is plentiful in the Forest where the player usually spawns.

Wearing the full set grants a basic (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 2 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 3 defense plus a set bonus of 1 defense, which adds up to a total of (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 3 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 4 defense.

Notes

• Even though the Wood Greaves grant 0 defense and may seem useless, wearing the full set grants 1 bonus defense, making it worth using.

Tips

• If the player spawns in an area with a sparse amount of trees, it may be worth considering to use the Wood for other, more useful items. Nearby Desert, Snow, and Jungle biomes offer their own early-game armors which are all better than Wood armor.

• The Wood Greaves are one of the three armor items which do not grant any defense. The other two are the Amethyst Robe and the Djinn's Curse(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
