Furniture sets are groups of standard furniture items that each exhibit a distinct theme and are therefore similar in appearance and style. Most sets can be crafted or found naturally-placed in the world. Others may be dropped by enemies.
There are a total of 43 furniture sets available in the game.
Types
The following table displays the different furniture sets:

- ↑ Palm Wood and Mushroom furniture sets also contain a Bench: (the normal Bench isn't actually part of the generic furniture set because it can be crafted with Any Wood, instead of just normal Wood)

- ↑ Despite being part of a naturally found set, the chest, sink, and toilet can only be crafted.
Partial sets
In addition to the full sets above, there are a few sets that consist of only a few pieces.
- Bar: Consists of the Bar, Bar Stool, and arguably Banquet Table. Crafted with any Wood at a Sawmill.
- Gothic: Consists of the Gothic Bookcase, Gothic Chair, Gothic Table, and Gothic Work Bench. Found in the Dungeon.
- Jack 'O Lantern: Consists of the Jack 'O Lantern, Hanging Jack 'O Lantern, and Jackelier. Crafted from Pumpkins at a Work Bench.
- Pine: Consists of the Pine Chair(Desktop, Console, Old-gen console and Mobile versions), Pine Table(Desktop, Console, Old-gen console and Mobile versions), and Pine Door(Desktop, Console, Old-gen console and Mobile versions). Crafted from Pine Tree Blocks at a Work Bench.
- Stone: Consists of the Stone Platform(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), crafted from Gray Bricks by hand, and the Stone Door(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), crafted from Gray Bricks at a Heavy Work Bench.
Individual items
There are also individual items that do not fit into one of the above sets but are of the above item types.
- Chests: Apart from the chests listed in above sets, some chests are only found naturally and are not part of a Furniture set. Most contain unique treasures for their type.
- The Gold Chest is found in the Underground in Underground Cabins and is also found in locked form in the Dungeon.
- The Ivy Chest is found in the Underground Jungle in Jungle Shrines and Living Mahogany Trees(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
- The Water Chest is found in bodies of water throughout the map, and in particular the Ocean.
- The Web Covered Chest is found in Spider Nests.
- The Shadow Chest is found in the Underworld, usually in Ruined houses in locked form originally.
- The Biome Chests are found in the Dungeon.
- Dungeon: In addition to the three main sets (one found in each color of the Dungeon), every Dungeon can also contain additional furniture.
- Doors: The Dungeon Door.
- Platforms: The Dungeon Shelf, Brass Shelf, Metal Shelf, and Wood Shelf.
- Lanterns: The Chain Lantern, Brass Lantern, Caged Lantern, Carriage Lantern, Alchemy Lantern, Diabolist Lamp, and Oil Rag Sconse.
- Platforms: In addition to the platforms listed above, and the platforms found in the Dungeon, there are also Team Platforms, which are randomly sold by the Traveling Merchant for 1 SC each.
- Other light sources: These light sources do not fit into a set, but some provide unique effects. Others are purely decorative.
- Buff lanterns: These lanterns provide regeneration buffs within an area around them when placed.
- The Heart Lantern provides a health regeneration buff and is crafted with a Life Crystal and 4 Chains.
- The Star in a Bottle provides a Mana regeneration buff and is crafted with a Fallen Star and a Bottle.
- Spawn rate candles: These candles affect enemy/critter spawn rate within an area around them when placed or held.
- The Water Candle increases enemy spawns and is found in the Dungeon, and can also be crafted in the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version.
- The Peace Candle(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) decreases enemy spawns and is crafted with a Pink Torch and 2 Gold or Platinum Bars.
- The Shadow Candle(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) allows enemy spawns in towns and is crafted with a Torch and 3 Demonite or Crimtane Bars while in a Graveyard.
- Decorative light sources: These are decorative light sources. Some do not work as mechanisms.
- The Tiki Torch is crafted with a normal Torch and 3 of Any Wood.
- The Lamp Post is crafted with 3 of Any Iron Bar, 2 Glass, and a Torch.
- The Skull Lantern is crafted from Bone and a Torch and could arguably be considered the Candle of its set.
- The Chinese Lantern is an extra large lantern and is crafted using a Torch and 5 Silk.
- The Lava Lamp(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) and the Plasma Lamp(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) are bought from the Party Girl.
- Buff lanterns: These lanterns provide regeneration buffs within an area around them when placed.
- Tables: In addition to the tables listed above, there are also Picnic Tables.
- The Picnic Table(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) is crafted with 12 of Any Wood.
- The Fancy Picnic Table(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) is crafted with 12 of Any Wood and 3 Silk.
- Toilets: In addition to the toilets listed above, there are two other toilets that are not part of any set.
- The Diamond Toilet(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) is crafted using 6 Diamonds.
- The Terra Toilet(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) is crafted using a regular Toilet and a Broken Hero Sword.
Trivia
- The Solar, Nebula, Vortex and Stardust sets all have identical forms, and only differ in color.
