Purpose?

Alright, so, i've reviewed the content of the page and i'm finding this page being a duplicate of Guide:Class setups. I don't feel that this page should exist. I'd like to know the clear purpose of it. If it's similiar to the page that i linked in this thread, it should be deleted. -- Murrayzero (talk) 19:48, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

This page was created to show armor progression: what is lower tier armor and what is better tier armor. In class setups page you see few of the armors and you cant know what is clearly better armor in the same category.. Proline3366 (talk) 06:12, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
There are multiple problems with a guide like this:
  • Some armors aren't objectively better than others: For example, sometimes you may prefer Palladium armor over Adamantite due to the Rapid Healing, and sometimes you prefer Orichalcum armor due to it having high dps with its underrated set bonus.
  • The guide doesn't actually show each armor's advantages or disadvantages when there's a choice, it just lists them from the best to the worst; sometimes misleading (Frost armor is not better than adamantite).
  • Class setups already covers armor choices for each class in every stage of the game. If the player is in doubt they can just click on the armor links, see their stats and decide on their own which one they want.
So if anything, this page needs to explain the armors instead of just listing them all in a list. Bame66 (talk) 19:25, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
The premise of this "guide" was flawed from the beginning. Armor progression does not follow a completely linear path. There are arguments for using Crimson armor over Cobalt armor, and Orichalcum over Adamantite, to name a few. Several armors listed in the same category in Class Setups have situational advantages over others, which is why they were included. Furthermore, we haven't even discussed the viability of broken sets, some of which are better than complete sets (for example, Turtle). Trying to put them in a "worst to best" list like this is incredibly misleading and narrow-minded, and is basically the same as forcing your opinion on all wiki readers.
I don't think this guide is good, and I don't think it's possible to improve it. If anything, you're the one who needs to broaden your view. --Baconfry39 (talk) 20:03, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
I agree and support deleting the guide. Proline3366, Ferretwings suggested copying the page to your userspace before deleting it (i.e. User:Proline3366 or any subpage of that) so that you can keep the reference. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:27, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
And it doesn't even cover the Tavernkeep armor. Agreed, this is not useful, and the Armor page covers everything it does. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 21:29, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

Table

For some reason the table i made in "start of game" section appears in "summoner class" section. Can you help me? Proline3366 (talk) 10:26, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

The reason the table broke was because you missed a "|}", which is used to close tables. I've already fixed it in the meanwhile. -- Murrayzero (talk) 10:29, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! Proline3366 (talk) 10:30, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
I dont know why but my table isnt getting wider. I tried some things and nothing worked. Can you help me please? Proline3366 (talk) 10:57, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
In melee class Proline3366 (talk) 10:57, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
I actually dislike wide tables with a lot of empty space. I'd recommend to flesh the table out before making those changes: i don't have your picture, so i don't exactly know what's the table is going to be in the end. You've done a good job so far. -- Murrayzero (talk) 11:00, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. I wanted the table in melee class to be wider because its hard to read the content there Proline3366 (talk) 11:03, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
OK I finished the melee class table. Should it be wider? Proline3366 (talk) 11:30, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Or I should just delete the images Proline3366 (talk) 11:31, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
I like the table now, but i'd rather remove the "Head Piece" column and just use the armor icon with the respective head piece. By the way, judging by the amount of edits you are making to this page, it looks like it'd better if you join the Discord chat(https://discord.gg/terraria), and discuss it there with the other editors Bame66 (talk) 17:11, 5 April 2019 (UTC).
Just a quick little correction here: The wiki discord link is https://discord.gg/zZGmGqk. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 23:06, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Im new to editing wiki so I try to understand as much as I can. Thank you for the discord link and all the support Proline3366 (talk) 17:22, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Bame66 I don't think I can do image of armor with one headpiece only. If you know any way to do it please tell me here because i never saw a way to do it yet Proline3366 (talk) 18:20, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Comment on deletion proposal

I think this page shouldn't be deleted because of my book for Terraria and I needed this for along time to see the armor defense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.193.157.51 at 23:32, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

That information is available on the Armor page and always has been. --Baconfry39 (talk) 18:55, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

Vortex or Stardust: Which is better for a server admin?

I'm the owner of a new servery that supports PC-Mobile cross-platform play, and I have /item perms. What armor would be better to protect myself from the random enemy or rogue player? I'm currently using Vortex, so I can watch what's going on without (most of the time) being seen, but Stardust is stronger. What would be better for me or other owners/admins to use? Stealth or bodyguard? (Vortex gives the stealth, but Stardust gives you a personal bodyguard) Thanks! PS if this is the wrong place, feel free to delete this post.
