More Useful as a Table?

Replenishable resources are interesting but should be of little consequence to game play. Maybe a table, just listing them could provide a good overview. HorrorShow 15:48, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

More

Stars, meteorite (can fall even without shadoworb), ebonsand, all potion materials including gel, obsidian (with the use of glitches), all store bought items should be listed as well. Although I don't know who'd be willing to do it, complete mob drop list would be nice as well. Irishminer93 112.86.108.108 13:57, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Renewable perhaps

The more common term, in my experience, is "renewable resources". It just rolls of the tongue more easily. — Lexmechanic 01:46, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Hyperlinks?

Gearzein reverted my edit of adding some hyperlinks. Is there some weird rule about when hyperlinks should be used? I generally only add them when I find myself frustrated that there isn't a hyperlink that I want to use... Nerman8r (talk) 16:32, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Generally you'd link the first use of a word or phrase on a page, reapplying as necessary based on page length. You linked sand twice within three sentences, and just after an entire section on sand where sand was both the first word and first link in the section. Nothing needs to be linked with that much frequency. Gearzein (talk) 16:40, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Deletion discussion

While I agree that this page isn't particularly useful now, I don't believe it would be entirely worthless once completed. The note about how all resources are renewable may be a little too "dude what if we're all a giant's dream" to make a passable article, but I think it's at least worth exploring the possibilities of a page covering resources that can be produced infinitely and the products derived from them. It may even be able to merge away the Making Money, Alchemy and Liquid Replication guides. Gearzein (talk) 00:25, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

I would remove most of that top paragraph, and remove the paragraph title. A player's world shouldn't rely on other worlds for maintenance, especially if you are playing multiplayer, and can't easily go from one world to another. Most of the other suggestions are helpful. I would explain how to add the "other" corrupted biome to the player's world (which would necessitate the creation of a world with that biome), so the player would have resources from both the Corruption and Crimson. A list of resource drops would be most beneficial, as I often forget who drops what (that brings up the question of which resources to list). Ferretwings (talk) 02:07, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
I often look up drops but that's easily accomplished by looking up the item in question imo. Plus we already have a Drops article fwiw (I've never used it, and I think it's redundant too). I'm not in favor of keeping this guide - I imagine most new players will come to the same conclusion of creating other worlds to exploit if they somehow run out of a particular resource. Also, they'll likely look for something on farming or gardening when they discover trees/plants can be grown. Even generators would fit better in a wiring guide. - Spinfx (talk) 01:39, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Just to close off this discussion, I and others have since expanded this into a worthwhile guide. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 22:45, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Queen Bee

It's stated in the article that "all bosses and NPCs can be resplendent infinitely". But is it really true regarding Queen Bee? Abeemination requires Hive blocks to craft, which are of limited quantity. (Also I think "resplendent" is the wrong word.) 176.193.134.193 14:46, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Definitely the wrong word -- dunno how that got in there! I've edited in notes about the Queen Bee. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 17:07, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
This does make me think... would that make all of the Mechs not infinitely spawnable, too? (Along with Ocram) —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 17:25, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Wait, but (correct me if I’m wrong), can’t Crates contain Iron/Lead? —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 17:27, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Yes, the Queen Bee's Drops are non-renewable however plentiful. Indeed Iron/Lead Bars can be obtained from crates. Also Iron/Lead Ore can be obtained via Bonus Drops from Slimes so the Mechanical Bosses' Drops are still renewable. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 17:53, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Split Non-renewable part with a new Page (Guide:Farming)

This guide is about listing Renewable Resources and how to farm them. They don't belong in this page. But the content shown about non-renewable resources is actually useful, so deleting them is a bad idea. I propose to split the section to a new page (it's a redirect to Gardening, what?) for farming all materials. -- Murrayzero (talk) 18:43, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

I support this. Guide:Farming should be an own page with the content of this section and possibly serving as a new home for Guide:Farming Biome Keys or Key Molds as well. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:41, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
I have transferred the information to a new section in Guide:Gardening, massaging it somewhat. I am about to delete most of the info from this guide. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 23:44, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
