Bar blocking

Do placed bars block projectiles? If not, do any other blocks you can walk through (besides doors) block projectiles? 114.72.13.21 23:05, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Placed bars

On a YouTube video I saw the player mining blocks that dropped a bar of material when they were mined (I believe it was silver). This could possibly mean that bars can be placed. Someone needs to test it, and note it on the wiki page if it's true. Oswalius (talk) 16:13, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

I think so. but maybe it was a mod or an old version of it. >MeowingInsanely<— Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.60.156.252 at 09:28, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
Bars can indeed be placed (here is an image showing some). NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 12:16, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Separate bars

It's a bit weird why some ores can be found in your world1 & the other in world2. Maybe It's because the game makers want the game to be more fun or longer :3 >MeowingInsanely<— Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.60.156.252 at 09:22, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

They were probably thinking it'd be a bit dull if every world featured the same ores. Variation is good! :-) By the way, comments are properly signed with ~~~~. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 12:16, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Dimensions of Bars

I noticed that on this page, as well as each individual Bar page, it says that the placed dimensions for bars are 2x2, rather than 1x1. Does anyone know why this is? Chrisf1020 (talk) 08:57, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Perhaps the person who added their measurements was using feet? They're certainly 1x1 in every meaningful sense though. Gearzein (talk) 11:39, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
Feet should only be used in this game when talking about elevation or distance. They have been changed. Chrisf1020 (talk) 21:20, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Redirecting Bar table from Sawmill

The 'Bar' table crafted at the Sawmill redirects to this page. It should redirect to the 'Table' page. 172.219.153.183 22:40, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

That might be difficult since the crafting template at Sawmill isn't equipped to handle custom link targets, and we need Bar and Bars to generally lead to the page describing ore bars. For now, the disambiguation note at the top of Bars does direct people looking for the Bar table item to the Table page. Equazcion (talk) 01:34, 14 Jun 2015 (UTC)

Bar stacking

Why do bars have a maximum stack of 99 with the exception of Luminite Bars which have a stack of 999? Why don't they let the bars have a nice stack of 999 so that inventories aren't filled with 5+ stacks of 99 bars? 74.192.162.231 12:26, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

Anomalies in price list

With the 1.4 prices, most bars are equal in value to the ore that went into them -- a reasonable thing for them to do... but there are a few anomalies: Silver is listed as 6 silver, when the pattern would suggest 4.5 and a quick check in-game seems to confirm the listed price for ore and bar. The other two anomalies are that for Meteorite, 6S of ore becomes a 14S bar, and for Hellstone, 7.5S of ore and a piece of unsalable obsidian become a 40S bar! My current game hasn't gotten far enough for me to check those... --MentalMouse42 (talk) 23:23, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Iron bar is showing wrong recipe.

Iron bars are showing their source as being made from wrought-iron fences. (ETA: In addition to the proper recipe, but even so...) This is technically true, but in this case it's the worst kind of true. ;-) --MentalMouse42 (talk) 00:32, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

I figured out how to suppress it. Needed to specify the entire string of the crafting station to exclude: "Heavy Work Bench and Ecto Mist". --MentalMouse42 (talk) 08:43, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
