"Massive damage"

What is this "massive damage"? How high is it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sergiusalceanu5772@legacy41595336 (talk • contribs) at 16:55, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

I took about 150 damage from one with jungle armor on, not sure what that amounts to --Felix20 16:59, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
I took about 80 firts time i met one without armor at all. Second one gave me 140 damage with 7 defense. --Dart193 17:29, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
15 defence, 144 damage --Dart193 19:09, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
I had sod-all defence when I discovered my firsts boulder (copper armor, no crystal hearts found). Originally I thought it was a new item so I eagerly dug my way towards it, only to be surprised as it practically insta-gibbed me the moment I got close. Heh. - Spinfx 09:28, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

quirk

I mined into a boulder from above by accident and it killed me something ridiculous; but the curious part is that while the boulder disappeared, the next time I passed under where it was the rock that was below it collapsed. The background wall behind where it was is a different sort than what's around it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moonlightfox (talk • contribs) at 13:09, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

It is probably stone block which can be toggled with pressure plate. It is inactive stone block. --Dart193 14:25, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

The going-left "Bug"

I don't think that is actually a bug. After all, when a boulder is dropped from a trap it is not hit from either side, which means it should default to a side.

It is not hard to force the directions really, even when queueing boulders for a trap. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheCHAKing (talkcontribs) at 05:22, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

If you are on top of a rolling boulder.. is not a bug

"If you're on top of a rolling boulder you will take the damage." This is not a bug. If you want to request a new feature for being able to stand on top of enemies then go request it. A rolling boulder is an enemy NPC (or projectile) which naturally deals damage when you touch it. It is part of the game engine and intended to work this way.

Additionally, here is a real bug:

 1. Place a boulder on the ground
 2. Place a chest on top of the boulder
 3. Fill the chest (?)
 4. Use a pickaxe tool on the boulder
 5. Say hi to your desktop for me
 6. You can take it a step further and place the boulder on ice blocks to crash the server.

Can boulders hit enemies?

If yes, could the wooden platform bug be used to attack the destroyer and eater of worlds with boulders?--Rampardos18 12:19, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Boulder speed

It now seems possible to pass the speed of a boulder through the use of asphalt blocks. I have run into speeding boulders going the same direction as me. A little uncertain how long they take to get to "full tilt" though.--Mikeshire (talk) 06:32, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Does the boulder really ignore the defence?

Recently I did a test about the boulder on myself, and the result shows that the damage inflict by the boulder WILL be reduced by the defence. Also when tested on the dungeon guardian, it only gave 1 damage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phosphorine (talk • contribs) at 16:07, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

I believe it only ignores the player defense and not the Fighter AI defense. --Notit!iebh1 (talk) 05:59, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

1.4 recipe

The new recipe for the boulder is 6 stone, but at a Heavy Work Bench instead. I would change it myself but it looks like I cannot change it from this page. 24.71.64.138 22:54, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

Boulder Statue

There's now a Boulder Statue (in the 1.4.0.1 PC Version) which is created from a Boulder as well as being able to spawn in Boulders (it attaches to ceilings rather than floors). However I don't feel confident enough to add that crafting recipe. --185.220.101.16 06:33, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

Crafting Recipe Icons

Currently the wiki Recipe's have Old gen, mobile and new gen console all listed on the heavy work bench for crafting. The only one that should be there is the desktop icon, with the rest on tinkers. Im not sure how to edit this myself, nor where to post this, so im shoving this here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Keybirbb (talk • contribs) at 15:59, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out. On this wiki, all platform icons that are directly attached to the name or image of an entity, like the Heavy Work Bench, display the platforms that that entity is available on (regardless of its context on the page; these icons are context-insensitive). In contrast, platform icons that are not directly attached to name or image of an entity, but are instead e.g. in parentheses, display the platforms that a specific characteristic/mechanic/etc. of the entity is available on (context makes the difference here; these icons are context-sensitive). In this case, the icons in parentheses refer to the platforms that the respective recipe is available on. Again, in contrast, the little icons directly next to the Boulder Statue and Ecto Mist and underneath the Heavy Work Bench (in the Boulder Statue recipe) display which platforms those entities (Boulder Statue, Ecto Mist, and Heavy Work Bench, respectively) are available on (with no relation whatsoever to anything else on the page). --Rye Greenwood (talk) 17:07, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Boulder Disambig page

I suggest that with 1.4.4's new boulders, there should be a disambiguation page with them listed. BasicPerson (talk) 22:37, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
