Dragonfly types

I just did some dragonfly farming, and saw results matching the dragonfly post: Red, Blue, and Green Dragonflies in ponds with cattails not in the desert. Yellow, Orange, and Black in the oasis with cattails. Per seid (talk) 03:53, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

How dragonflies spawns

farming dragonflies on my main world got footage of them spawing during the rain +i have a high suspicion (sus) that their wind conditions are roughly 3-17mph

to be specific, dragonfly follows the ordinary mob spawning process, but at the end they will spawn on a cattail at most 30 blocks away from the original spawning tile, which made it possible to appear in the screen directly (the original spawn tile is out of screen but the chosen cattail is in the screen. also note that dragonfly has no relationship with water, after cattail grow up you may remove all the water.

about raining, "wild" dragonfly and "town" dragonfly follow different condition. if there is no town NPC nearby, dragonfly may spawn as a ordinary surface creature, during this process they can only spawn when there is no rain. if there are town NPC nearby they may spawn as town critter, during this process they can only spawn when it's raining.
