NPCs
If you move your spawn point by putting a bed elsewhere and setting it as the spawn point, do subsequent NPCs spawn there or do they still spawn at the original mid-world surface spawn point? - Spinfx 08:03, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Obstacles
Article says the game will clear the spawn point of obstacles including water and lava; has anyone tested flooding the spawn point? I assume only the water/lava directly on the spawn point is cleared - as soon as you spawn in I imagine the water/lava from the surrounding tiles will rush to fill in the gap immediately and re-drown/re-cook the player. - Actually, it clears the spawn point whenever a player spawns there. --DoubleFloat 17:55, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

World Center and Spawn Point
The article states that "The world's spawn point will be on a surface within five blocks of the horizontal middle of the world." In my personal Terraria world on 1.4, this doesn't seem true as my spawn point (as per the recall potion) is more than five blocks away. Can anyone confirm this? World Center is a thing?
Can anyone tell me why it has to be world center? Can it be at the edge of the map? VialofAngelSouls (talk) 21:49, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- For some reason (unless you use secret seeds) you'll always spawn at the surface and at the exact center of the world.Fern-Heart (talk) 13:47, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
