Notes

  • The Cobalt Sword has a lower use time than all of the other Hardmode ore swords.

Trivia

  • The Cobalt Sword bears a strong resemblance to the Muramasa and the Japanese katana (which is also in Terraria), and fits with the "feudal Asia" theme of other Cobalt weapons and armor.
    • The real-life katana is a very light, thin blade, which is represented in Terraria by the Cobalt Sword's high speed.
  • In the 1.4.4 and 1.4.4.9 updates, the Muramasa and Katana were given curved blades to make them look more like real-world Katanas. However, despite also receiving a sprite change in 1.4.4.9, the Cobalt Sword did not receive a curved blade.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.4:
    • Damage increased from 39 to 40.
    • Use time reduced from 23 to 19.
    • Size scale increased from 1.1× to 1.2×.
    • Knockback increased from 3.85 to 5.
  • Desktop 1.4.1: Cobalt Bars needed to craft decreased from 10 to 8.
