The Flying Dragon is a Hardmode, post-Golem sword that fires bright red, crescent-shaped Hearty Slash projectiles once per swing, which travel through solid blocks and produce light. The Hearty Slash projectiles travel at 82 mph and can pierce up to four enemies, dissipating after hitting a fifth. The Flying Dragon has a 1/4 (25%) chance of being dropped by Betsy during Tier 3 of the Old One's Army event.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
Notes
- The blade's hitbox extends considerably beyond the blade sprite itself, barely beating out the Breaker Blade in horizontal range by about a pixel, but losing quite a bit in vertical range.
Tips
- Due to its light-emitting, wall-piercing beams, this sword is useful for exploring and finding caves, behaving as an upgrade to the Death Sickle and other weapons in this regard.
- Aiming is slightly easier due to how wide the projectiles are, combining that with high melee speed, one can decimate multi-segment bosses such as The Destroyer easily.
- It can be very useful for events due to its powerful attacks, projectiles, and crowd-controlling capabilities.
Trivia
- Like the other Old One's Army weapons, the Flying Dragon is a direct reference to the weapon of the same name in Dungeon Defenders 2, due to its implementation as part of a crossover event.
- The Flying Dragon is one of the largest swords in the game, beaten only by the Breaker Blade.
