The Space Gun in action.

The Space Gun is a pre-Hardmode magic weapon which autofires quick green-colored lasers that can piece two enemies before dissipating. Its projectile velocity is as fast as the Megashark. Each laser can hit up to three enemies and emits moderate light as it moves. If a full set of Meteor armor is equipped, the Space Gun costs no mana to use.

It is crafted by combining 20 Meteorite Bars (60 Meteorite) at an Anvil. A full set of Meteor armor and the Space Gun cost a total of 65 Meteorite Bars to craft (195 Meteorite).

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Tips

• Despite only being obtainable after defeating the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu, the Space Gun struggles to compete with even pre-boss weapons like the Thunder Zapper and Flintlock Pistol, which have better single-target DPS.
  • While the weapon costs no mana to fire with Meteor Armor equipped, players can also use a non-magic weapon while regenerating mana or use Mana Potions to avoid mana issues.
• With a full set of Meteor armor, the Space Gun is a workable weapon against Skeletron due to being able to pierce both hands. This allows it to deal damage to both the hands and possibly the head simultaneously, but it falls far behind other weapons available at the same time, such as Molten Fury, Volcano, or Demon Scythe.
• In  Old-gen console version and Nintendo 3DS version, the Space Gun can be obtained without defeating any bosses, and is also slightly stronger, making it a decent option against early bosses.
