Beating EoW/BoC Isn't Necessary

It happened actually this: I haven't fought the Brain of Cthulhu and I have all defeated the Mechanical Bosses, Plantera and Golem. I haven't crafted any Blody Spine, even I just broke two Crimson Hearts. Also I created a new world and went to Underworld for checking if it's a bug, just after five mins I saw a Voodoo Demon and on this world the first boss I defeated was Wall of Flesh. So it seems to we don't have to defeat BoC/EoW to spawning of Voodo Demons. The first world was a Small Crimson world(Normal mode) and checking world was a Small Corrupt world(Expert mode). I have the latest version(1.3.0.8) on Steam and I will keep trying other world sizes and then remove this sentence: "(Note: Since 1.3, beating the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu is required for the Voodoo Demon to spawn in the Underworld.)" This page.

Is this page absolutely necessary?

Really no, but breaking the linearity is fun and also sometimes you really need to skip something. So this page both necessary and unnecessary.SteveisNoob (talk) 20:42, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

Rename the page into something more obvious

Skipping stones is really bad. From my understanding, this page should list all methods to skip game progression. This is usually called "Sequence Breaking", which is a very common term in the speedrunning community (in which i think it's made for them). I propose to rename the page into that. Althrough, i feel that it's not good for a page title, so if someone else has another one, feel free to reply this discussion. -- Murrayzero (talk) 18:57, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

Update: we discussed this on the Terraria Wiki Discord and changed the title page to Skipping Ahead. If you feel that there's a better one to use, feel free to suggest. -- Murrayzero (talk) 20:41, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

Crate-based Ore Skipping

In Journey's End, all crates now have a Pre-Hardmode and a Hardmode version. They can no longer be saved and used to get hardmode ores. There are a lot of mentions using them to skip, and I'm not sure how much needs to be adjusted and/or done with that. 72.39.111.222 13:30, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Candidate for Deletion

3 reasons to delete this page:

  • This page is severely outdated, as it did't received any real content update since 28 December 2022‎.
  • This page should be focused on "skipping ahead", while it is't.
  • Most of the information mentioned here is also mentioned on other pages.
