Administrator Noticeboard
The admin noticeboard is one way for users to notify administrators of issues requiring administrative attention. Users are also welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), but posting here can more reliably ensure that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond promptly. Remember to sign when posting an issue.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, e.g. blocking vandals, protecting pages, or restoring deleted pages.
  • Do not post deletion requests here. Add {{delete}} to the top of the target page instead. In most cases, add the delete tag, rather than replacing the entire page content with it, so that administrators can easily verify that the content was deletable.
  • Do not post issues here regarding content disputes. Try posting to the community noticeboard instead.

Vandalism reports: Posting here should be a last resort. Revert first, as anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene.

Creating a new request – vandals
  1. Edit the Vandal reports section
  2. At the top of the list, use the {{vandal|IP address or username here}} template. Provide a short and neutral summary of the issue.
Creating a new request – non-vandal cases (e.g. user issues, page protection/undeletion, etc.)
  1. Add a new section (+) to the page and enter an appropriate title (without using templates or links) in the subject field.
  2. In the edit field, enter a short and neutral summary of the issue. Use the {{user|IP address or username here}} template to refer to users involved with the case and provide links to important pages or edits.
  3. As a courtesy, also leave a message on the talk page of any involved user.

Editing Golden Delight recipe to use "Any Golden Critter" item group

Hi, I know a lot of people get confused because they assume Golden Delight takes 1 of EACH critter instead of just any single one. I am trying to get an item group set so that the recipe can say "Any Golden Critter" much like Fruit Juice requires "Any Fruit".

I already created an item group with all of the Golden Critters in it. The recipe just needs to be changed, but the Cooking Pot Recipes page is edit-protected.

If an admin could simply edit the recipe to use the new "Any Golden Critter" group, that would be much appreciated!

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. I'd like to direct you to the Yoyo Bag and "Any Counterweight" section on this page, where I answered a similar request. The gist of it is: There is no group of alternative crafting ingredients for counterweights, or golden critters in this case, defined in Terraria's source code, and we shouldn't diverge from the source code (which includes the Guide in-game). It might be a good idea to suggest this to Re-Logic on the forums, though.
Regardless, I see that the recipe table might be confusing. If there are multiple ingredients in one recipe, they're listed in the same table cell without lines in between. For tables with multiple recipes that each have multiple ingredients, this is usually fairly obvious and understandable (e.g. Spelunker Potion#Crafting), but that's not the case with the Golden Delight. Is there perhaps another way we could avoid this confusion? Changing the table format for just this one page would raise concerns about consistency, but would it perhaps help to mention in the very first sentence of the article that the item is crafted from any one golden critter?

Something I can think of would be to add a note below the Crafting header stating that only one is necessary, similar to the Statues page, or we could just bold the "any" part indeed, it's a common thing we already did to highlight important details Dinoxel (talk) 23:47, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
Alright, I've added this. Feel free to improve. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 12:40, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Fruit pages seem to have their Crafting section broken

Take Apple for example. Apple Juice does not show up in "Used in" for some reason. This seems to apply to every fruit drink (I'm not going to list every single one, but their item IDs should be 4614–4623). SlabFoot20 (talk) 05:12, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

Looks like this was fixed in Special:Diff/873276; thanks for reporting! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:10, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

Pages that are supposed to be locked are not locked

All site logos are protected except File:Site-logo-crimson.png and File:Site-logo-underground.png.

File:Site-background-hydra.jpg is not protected either.

Also, while I'm here, why does the Admin noticeboard and Vandal section not have a 2022 archive? Oversight? SlabFoot20 (talk) 23:11, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

I can't add a hyperlink to a reference.

On the page about the game itself, Terraria, I replaced the 3DS version's purchase link section with a description regarding the 3DS version's unavailability for digital purchase. I also added a reference, but the wiki did not let me hyperlink the reference, so the reference is currently unhyperlinked. The editor told me to contact an administrator about it. The hyperlink I was going to add was: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/p/994/c/186/a_id/58358 AdamEternal (talk) 21:50, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi, another user added the link. The wiki's abuse filter blocked your edit because it recognized that you removed a section (the "Purchase link" section) and replaced it with a paragraph that contained a link, which is a common pattern for vandals. Sorry for the inconvenience! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 15:12, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
