Talk:Abigail's Flower

Found one without graveyard.

Abigail's Flower can be seen to the right of 2 graves.

So I recently made a new Expert world in Terraria, and had since met 2 deaths; the gravestones of which I placed together near spawn. Upon relogging into the world after a night's rest and breakfast, I was surprised to see a slime rain happening. Upon moving right towards where I placed my chests, I noticed the flower sitting there and got exited and gathered it. Realizing I should've probably taken a screenshot of it, I closed Terraria and reopened the world to do so. It seems as if the flower can spawn on grass near any grave, regardless of if there's a graveyard biome or not. I figured I should start a talk about this instead of editing the page myself for the reasons of:

  • I don't know if this is a bug or actually intended
  • I figured others would want to test this before simply accepting the words of some rando as fact
  • I've yet to ever edit a page and am scared regarding the editing of pages that others have worked on

Hi and welcome! If you're unsure about editing an article, then posting on the talk page is definitely a good idea. I've taken a look at the Desktop version Desktop 1.4.3 source code and it seems like you're right and it is indeed intended behavior: The game will spawn Abigail's Flower near any placed Tombstone; Graveyards don't play a role at all. I've updated the page with these findings, so thank you for mentioning this! Also, I hope you will become more comfortable on the wiki and feel less scared to edit pages. There is hardly ever a situation where you're not editing the work of others, because that's what this is all about – collectively creating a high-quality encyclopedia. That can only work if multiple people continuously improve each other's work. You could start small; perhaps fix typos that you come across, or rewrite a sentence if you think its content could be expressed in a better way. If you would like to feel more prepared, you could read through the starter help page, the wiki rules, and the style guide, though please don't feel intimidated by those. See you around, hopefully! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 20:02, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Mythical may be the best modifier

So I just decided to get myself one of these as part of collecting all summon weapons, and after passing ~4 Mythicals on my way to get Ruthless I glanced at the current damage, then when I eventually got Ruthless (for the second time, whoops) I noticed the damage seemed to be the same.

Just to double check I gave myself another flower and made this one Mythical. As it turns out they are the same , 9 with no equipment and 18 with.

I'm not comfortable modifying the wiki, but I believe the way rounding modifiers works they will always be tied and thus making Mythical technically the best. I would appreciate if someone would double check this and update the page as applicable.

Great call! I edited the page based on my own calculations, thanks for pointing this out. 98.48.27.2 13:46, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Seemingly does not spawn by NPC gravestones

I've tested this for several hours, both in Constant worlds and others, and the NPC gravestones that appear in Hardcore seem to not be able to spawn this item, even after replacing (in fact, no gravestones that have been broken and replaced seem to spawn it). This seems unintentional, but I can't say for certain. Either way, has this been able to be replicated?

I found one without a tombstone and on an ash block

I’m just wondering if this is a bug or not? I found it on the getfixedboi seed on ps4. I’m currently on mobile so no image SomewhatBoredChara (talk) 14:15, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

It says on the page it can grow on any grass, which I believe includes ash grass, and the colors are similar, so maybe you destroyed the tombstone and didn't notice the flower. Cytra (talk) 16:23, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
