What is the point of this?

1.2.0.3.1 bug?

Since the update, I can't get mine to work in any world. It still spawns bubbles as normal, but they immediately pop upon appearing, instead of floating off. Can anyone else reproduce? 68.217.122.198 19:07, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
