mechanics questions, how do these 'minibiomes' work?: is it the background wall like spidercave? presence of natural granite? both? a third factor? do the enemies spawn if an editor places a granite biome on the surface or are they exclusive to underground?

Enemy

Not the same guy from above: I found an enemy in Terraria called "Granite Shelly" it spawned near a Granite Biom and looked like it was made out of Granite like the other Granite enemys. It behaved like turtle (walking slowly and jumping high). It was not mentioned here so do. Has anyone also see this thing? Yohei2000

Chances are, you've found a Giant Shelly. These uncommon enemies spawn anywhere underground and have several different graphical variations. –KM100 ^(talk) 18:15, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
