Purple Strange Plant in Forest

Found a purple Strange Plant not in the jungle as this article currently claims, but in a regular old forest biome. --Fascion (talk) 15:01, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

I can confirm that all four types will grow in a forest biome. I'd like to edit the page to reflect this but I feel that it first needs more consistent information on how they spawn everywhere else. I'd imaging that all four will grow in a jungle and underground as well, but I've yet to see any outside of forest biomes so I can't say for sure. Also, has anybody seen them in crimson/corruption/hallow? --Setheral (talk) 17:28, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Tool for harvesting

Are these plants harvested with any weapon or do they require the use of a pickaxe ? Fegazeus (talk) 01:07, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Found my first Strange Plants, they require the use of a pickaxe to be gathered. Fegazeus (talk) 18:49, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Sky bridge

When is says "sky bridge", does it mean that strange plants also grow in space? --Ababcdc (talk) 01:55, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

It grows on dirt blocks even with no grass on it, so making a sky bridge 700+ ft above the ground is a good way to farm these strange plants, though it might require a Large map an a couple thousands dirt blocks. Fegazeus (talk) 18:49, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Plant Proximity

Could someone get a reference of where in the code, strange plants can't spawn near other dye plants? I've looked at the generation code and couldn't find anything about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Triggerdeath (talk • contribs) at 22:25, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

I wouldn't know a thing about where in the code it is, but it's been confirmed by Yoraiz0r --Setheral (talk) 20:12, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Also, about your comment that they cannot grow above 3/20 of the world surface. Are you sure this is even correct? 3/20 above 0 ft would still be, in most cases, underground. Seems like this would make more sense if it meant from the top of the world surface (Just before Space). --Setheral (talk) 20:48, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Plants underground

This probably isn't the correct way to use all the things on the talk page, but I found a Strange Plant in the underground... corruption. On some dirt that I had placed previously. Does this mean that they can grow underground, or was this a strange bug? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.239.45.147 at 05:31, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

This is not a bug, Strange Plants can grow underground on dirt, moss, or jungle grass. –KM100 (talk) 06:09, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Interesting thing about the colors.

The colors of the orange, purple, and green strange plants are the same colors as the Solar, Nebula, and Vortex Celestial pillars respectively. I think that this would be an interesting thing to put in a Trivia section. 50.108.80.51 13:23, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

This is an item of quest rarity.

can someone who knows how add the category? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 00gogo00 (talk • contribs) at 23:45, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Why can we not add the celestial pillars info?

I do not believe it is a coincidence considering that the green one is the exact color of the vortex pillar. It is possible that the stardust was originally intended to be red but was changed in development...and they didnt update the strange plants. Ask a developer! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.34.66.159 at 01:43, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

There are certain rules regarding trivia on this wiki, including that an item of trivia must be undeniable, which is not the case here. The red Strange Plant does not represent any pillar and the Stardust Pillar is not represented, so it's hardly possible to consider this undeniable. However, if Re-Logic confirms the theory, then it's of course completely valid to add it. As you said, ask a developer – and provide a publicly accessible link to their verified response. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 13:04, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
How is it undeniable? The evidence is good, the exact shades…Did you even read? Did you just read the title? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.34.66.159 at 19:08, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
For trivia to be added, it must be undeniable, i.e. leave no room for possibility. I would agree with you that "it is possible", but that isn't enough to be added. After all, if the wiki allowed anything that was "possible", then the trivia section of any page would be a mile long.
Also, don't be so hostile with your responses. It can be frustrating when someone doesn't agree with you, but please try to be patient. --KM100 (talk) 18:25, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
The perfect shade of purple, greenish blue, and orange? your denying it because there is no cyan/cyan and yellow plant? 68.34.66.159 16:26, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
