Template:Construction/doc
Use this template when you need time to make edits to a page. This notice is intended to keep other editors from editing while you work on the page, so that your edits do not conflict with each other.
Place this at the top of the page, and remove it immediately when you're done.
Articles
When used outside userspace, for example on main wiki articles, this template should be extremely temporary, and will display a message accordingly. It must only be used when you have a good-faith intention to complete or repair a page immediately, and would like to request that other wiki editors allow you time to do so without editing the page themselves.
- Do not use this template to warn readers that a page is merely "unfinished". Wiki articles often require work or are incomplete, and no such notice is necessary.
- Do not leave this template on mainspace articles for extended periods of time. Use it only when you yourself intend to work on a page immediately, and remove it when your work is complete.
- If this notice has remained on a mainspace article for more than a couple of hours, and the user who posted it has not made any recent edits, the notice should be removed.
Userspace
When used in your own userspace, this template may be used to indicate a page that you intend to work on over an extended period. The bullet points in the bottom portion of the template indicating that it is only temporary will not display when posted in userspace.
Usage
Place {{Construction}} on the top of the page/section.

- Reason (optional)
Reason for the construction.
- nocat=yes and nocat=y (optional)
Including nocat=yes will remove this template from the Things to Do list.
- longterm=yes and longterm=y (optional)
Including longterm=yes will remove the notes about it being very temporary. Use this on pages which will be under construction for a longer time period than 3 hours. Do not use this param on Userspace, as it automatically removes this.
