Template:Editcopy notice/doc

This template is used to display a box with a link to the editcopy of a page. Some pages, like the main page, are protected to prevent them from being vandalized, yet all editors should be able to propose changes to them. Therefore, there is an editcopy subpage (e.g. Terraria Wiki/editcopy) that all editors can modify.

Usage

All parameters are optional.

link

By default, the template links to an /editcopy subpage of the page it is used on. If it is used on a page that is already such a subpage, it links to itself. Use this parameter to provide a custom link target.

pagetype

The template will detect automatically what kind of page it is used on, e.g. regular article, template page, help page, etc. This parameter can be used to overwrite that and set an own page type.
