Greek translation

Hello and welcome!

Thank you for initiating the Greek translation project! You are the very first Greek translator and surely not the last one. Please know that any effort in regards to translating the wiki is greatly appreciated. No matter what language, all players around the globe should be able to get information about the game. Even though it may seem overwhelming in the beginning (considering the wiki has 5,178 articles waiting to be translated), take one step at a time. Translating a single page about a popular character or item, like the Guide or the Meowmere, already has a significant impact on the Greek community, to the non-English-speaking part of which that information is then available!

I also suggest you to maybe focus on the pages linked on the main page, as that page is where most readers land. Don't worry about templates or modules and focus on translating the text for now.

The usual workflow of translating a page is:

  1. Copy the content of the respective English page. Let's say, you wanted to translate Guideopen the "edit" window, select all and copy.
  2. Create a new page at the /el subdomain, e.g. Guide/el.
  3. Paste the content there and add {{project|Greek translation}} at the very top.
  4. Start translating the text. Don't worry if you are not able to finish the translation. You can always come back later and continue.

In case you want to have a more "private" editing environment, you can copy the content of the English page into a page in your userspace, e.g. User:Kidef/Guide/el. It is unlikely that any reader will ever see that page.

I hope this covers all the basics to get you started. If you get stuck, consult the Help Wiki or ask in the Discord or on the Community noticeboard. Also, feel free to encourage fellow Greek Terrarians to join the project! Every edit counts!
