This template displays a banner to discourage others from deleting a page. It can be used on pages that may appear useless at the moment but are actually in use (or even unused, but still useful).

This is mostly used on templates, categories, or files which for different reasons may end up in Special:UnusedTemplates, Special:UnusedCategories, or Special:UnusedFiles, respectively, but should not be deleted. This template adds the behavior switch __EXPECTUNUSEDTEMPLATE__ to templates and __EXPECTUNUSEDCATEGORY__ to categories, causing the page to be removed from Special:UnusedTemplates/Special:UnusedCategories.

Usage

{{ nodelete | <reason> | maintenancecategory = y/yes }}

First unnamed parameter

Reason why the page should not be deleted.

maintenancecategory

Standard reason for maintenance categories. The first unnamed parameter is ignored if this parameter is set.

Examples

Note that the text adapts to the namespace of the page it is used on. For instance, on category pages it reads "Do not delete this category".
