Rope Strategy Alternative

Alternative Arena for Rope Strategy. Temp pic, don't add this to the main page like this!

Here's a quite cheap alternative arena setting of Rope Strategy for after 1.4.0.1. King Slime now teleports to the player regardless of the player's location, so the boss will teleport to the player even when you're midair if unable to reach the player.

Bottle is not related. Platform below can be solid blocks. Banner not required. Campfire and Heart Lantern optional. This is mainly to the benefit of Master mode players as at ~220 health ~25 defense a player in Master mode can still only take 3 hits from the boss. Regen furniture, accessory with consuming food and regen potion allows a new hit after around 40s or even to a minimum of about 15s excl. base regen.

Player hook to the lower surface of the Cactus blocks as shown in this surface to move horizontally. The player should immediately use a hook to move to the side when King Slime starts its teleport animation, causing the teleport to miss. King Slime will teleport to the location the player was at when the teleport animation starts and miss the player's new location. A teleport happens around every 7 platinum bow shots. Seems like it's with a slightly shorter teleport time delay in the beginning of the fight, of about 6 plat bow shots? Could be caused by having not adapted to the rhythm yet but also could be a boss behavior shift.

I consider this a strategy derived from Rope Strategy because it's also relying on the limited jump height of King Slime, and fixes the player at a certain height. Differences are that this requires player movement and a grappling hook.

Is it possible to reduce the vertical space by 1 block? Currently at max jump height at low health, King Slime almost hits the player. Need exact time between teleports- seems to be around 6-7 secs as 7th plat bow shots takes place exactly 5 sec after first shot.

I'd say with more information on sizes, a systematic description and a more formal picture of an example to meet a revised guide's standards this can be added to the page.

Update: 26 blocks of vertical space between the top and bottom layer is acceptable. Now onto 25 blocks? (Forgot to sign when posting the concept oops) --Creeper_NoDenial (talk) 11:00, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
