If the Beach Ball is 'hit' more than at least 11 times without it hitting the ground, a message will appear 'Beach Ball was hit X times before hitting the ground.

I believe this my be a small reference to Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 day's Mission 37, Vacation

The objective of this leisure mission is to hit the ball as many times as possible before it hits the ground. If it makes contact with the ground five times, the counter is reset after dialogue between Hayner and Roxas.

It's how beach ball games generally work. Both Terraria and Kingdom Hearts (and probably many others) are "referencing" real life. Equazcion ^(talk) 05:13, 1 Jan 2015 (UTC)

Beach ball and summon minions.

I found out that summoned minions can hit the beach ball as of 1.4. Has anybody else noticed this?
