Gnomes are extremely dangerous in Expert Mode and Master Mode, as their damage and health are multiplied by 11 and 13.5 respectively. This makes them extraordinarily deadly and capable of killing new players very quickly. What this guy's smoking? How can 75hp/50hp/20hp be a 13.5/11/1? And if he's talking about their POSTPLANTERA health - than it's 13.5 and 19.8 times, but what that's going to do with new players? He is "fatter" than common enemies, but he's nonexistent to things like even shark (classic pre hardmode shark have basically the same amount of hp as post plantera gnome while having only 2.5 times lower damage and water terrain advantage) or mushroom enemies. 95.27.43.210 17:38, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Gnome spawning behavior

90% sure that gnomes spawn in non player placed walls in the surface forest biome with no npcs nearby, currently flattening out an area and left dirt walls, gnomes are regularly spawning behind them Templan00 (talk) 20:10, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

The gnome doesn't only spawn in living trees. (screenshot)

Here's one that spawned while it was raining. I also saw them spawn in the underground. Screenshot 49.png

Gnome Spawning

Has anyone had any luck spawning Gnomes with player-placed living wood walls/living wood? There are also some reports of Gnomes spawning in the caverns or on the surface during rain. Metalax (talk) 11:04, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Player placed walls block spawning, so I doubt anyone will unless the Gnome is somehow extraordinarily special. Someone should go investigate the code for Terraria to confirm what the exact spawn requirements are. Retep998 (talk) 15:38, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

A Nice joke

It would be a bit funny if you were killed by a gnome and instead of saying ... has been killed by a gnome . it would say ... has got gnomed

Behavior issues

Gnomes remain stationary if players are far from them, but sometimes they do move around when players are far away(from players' view they are offscreen). I have encountered several garden gnomes beside living trees(no one lured them, they just walked to surface), and I was near a living tree during a blood moon when I saw some gnomes were among those zombies. Also, I got the new achievement by this way. Is there any explainations to their behavior, or it's just because I'm playing in a “for the worthy“ world?
