How is that supposed to be "intended"? I bet they just typo'd the recipe and it happened to come up on Iron Pickaxe as a result, otherwise the same logic may as well be applied to the other bricks...98.20.145.117 14:38, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Damage

Does the damage component effect npcs or monsters as well. Curious as I may cart a bunch up to my fortress on the surface?--75.72.124.142 21:27, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

It doesn't appear to deal damage to monsters or NPCs, like how spikes work. Good player deterrant but most will equip an obsidian skull or mine it. --Cloakedboltz 03:29, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Damage rate

The damage dealt by the block is 20 according to the page, but at what rate is that? Per second? --Macks2008 (talk) 12:08, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

I believe contact damage from any source (melee enemies, spikes, lava, etc) would be inflicted every 2/3 of a second, which is the amount of time players are immune following any attack -- unless they're wearing the Cross Necklace, which would make it every 1 and 1/3 of a second.
