Hardmode?
Can these be gathered and used in a pre-hardmode world if you already have 400HP? Liviaro (talk) 23:40, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- You must GATHER them in a hardmode world. (They do not spawn in a pre-hardmode world, to the best of my knowledge.) However, once gathered, you can USE them in any world (assuming you already have 400HP via Life Crystals), including pre-hardmode ones, and the MAX Life Increase will take effect.173.228.18.9 01:22, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Spelunker Potion?
In the Notes, it says
Life Fruit do not glow under the effects of Spelunker Potions.
But in the Trivia, it says
They glow when the player is under the effects of Spelunker Potion.
Which is true?

Size
What is the exact size for the Life Fruit?
Bug(?)
Encountered a bug in my Life Fruit farm that always worked as it should before (unless it's an intended rare occurence of a dud): Another life fruit had spawned, but when I hit it, it made a 'poof' sound like when you destroy cave deco items, but there was no life fruit, not lying around, not in my plenty of free inventory space. Maybe a bug that can occur when there's little space? My farm has two blocks height for the fruits. - EDIT: It happened again now, a second time. Again when the fruit had spawned in a two blocks high row instead of a three blocks high one. --87.152.204.40 08:11, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Life fruit pre- mech. boss?
For some reason, i have found 3 life fruit before i have beat a Mechanical boss. is this a known feature for anyone?

I found one life fruit too and I haven't beat any mechanical bosses. I guess Life fruits spawn after changing to hardmode?

- What platform are you playing on? Because on the Old-gen console and 3DS versions, Life Fruit can be found prior to defeating a mechanical boss, just in much smaller numbers; defeating a mechanical boss increases the amount that can grow. On other versions, Life Fruit will only grow after one mechanical boss has been defeated. 46.132.184.102 10:32, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
No life fruits on hallowed jungle?
After defeating mechanical trio, i went to search for life fruits to maximize hp. None of them spawned in all of jungle, i am searching for like 6 hours now. Prior to defeating WoF, hallow appeared in my jungle, including underground. Mud blocks remain unchanged, jungle background and music also, but water is purple, hallowed enemies spawn occasionally, yet jungle ones also do, and the drop souls of light upon death. Has anyone ever came across something similar?
why is there no life fruit spawning in my world i gave it about 10-20 ign and spent 4 hours finding one but no luck
Solution:- life fruits are supposed to spawn in bigger quantities after the mechanical bosses are defeated. before they are defeated, the life fruits will spawn in very small quantities which are almost less than 1 to 8 life fruits 156.194.62.4 09:44, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
Life fruit spawn does not depend on how many boss you did killed
I checked the code and life fruit can only spawn if:
- the mode is in hardmode
- any mechanical boss has been beated
- Only on jungle grass in underground
The only thing that affect life fruit spawn ration is if the world is at least in hardmode in this case:
- their ration of spawn is increased (1/30 instead of 1/40)
- they can grow more closely (check of 50 block around instead of 60)
