superfluous
There is no need for a money trough, aside from a very small convenience. Carry around your piggy bank and 2 plaforms. Place the platforms just above the ground and place the piggy bank. Store/remove items, then pickaxe your platforms back up. It does the same thing as the money trough without having to grind RNG for the item. Dienamecamper (talk) 02:52, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Bug

Actual Rarity
Can anybody confirm having seen a Money Trough drop pre-hardmode? I've been playing for years and don't recall seeing it happen. In my most recent start, as of 8/29/21, I have slain at least 250 each of the Dripplers and Blood Zombies, plus a few dozen each of the Wandering Eye and Zombie Mermen, but haven't yet seen a single pig.
Confirmation
We have only killed the Eye of Cthulhu and Eater of Worlds. Got our first money trough the same night we got the banner for 300th kill of both Drippler and Blood Zombie. 1/600 odds in non-expert world?
