Merchant Needed for Nurse on Mobile Version?

I'm pretty sure the Merchant does NOT need to be present for the Nurse to arrive on the Mobile Version. All you need to do is consume on Crystal Heart and she shows up, even before you've got 50 pieces of silver coin in your inventory. At any rate, that's what I've found to be the case on both the iOs and Android versions. (And, yeah, I've played both.)

Hope I did this right...total n00b here.

Crystal Heart requirement

Do you actually have to consume the Crystal Heart? Will players who have full HP be unable to get a Nurse to come into a newly-created world? MarekkPie 16:50, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

-Players that have full health or an additional heart will bring the nurse to any world with an available room. The crystal heart itself drops as an item much like the blue mana star and must be consumed, it gives not only an extra 20 hp but grants you a healing effect of +20 hp (like a heart dropped from a enemy). --Thanatos 17:05, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Are you certain about this? I've made a new world with several suitable rooms right away and haven't had the nurse come by yet. Is there an order to the NPCs that appear? MarekkPie 18:09, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, the NPC generation is completely random, I logged onto my buddies world (fresh world no npcs) with my top tier pvp character, the first NPC to show up was the Arms dealer, the only NPC that is completely world dependant is the Dryad I believe. However the others are random, and will spawn at random times at least this is my experience (it's occured over 4 worlds now). Also the requirements must be met to get the nurse, the heart must be consumed to unlock the nurse for your character. --Thanatos 18:12, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Information conflict

The page currently says "It costs 1.33 copper per hitpoint that will be restored, rounded to the nearest whole number (ex. 75 copper for 100 hitpoints)." The example does not show 1.33 copper per HP, it shows 0.75 copper, which is instead 1.33 HP per copper. I'd like to think the former is more honest, but the latter just seems to make more sense, to me at least. 98.20.174.209 06:17, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Blood Moon Text

During a Blood Moon in 1.1, the nurse used the line "Why are you even here? if you aren't bleeding, you don't need to be here. Get out." before I'd even found the dungeon. Looks like the Mechanic doesn't need to be present for it. - 212.129.72.170 17:04, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

I believe I found out why Nurse and Mechanic are extremely upset during a blood moon. They are FEMALE Npc's and it happens during BLOOD Moon. It is simple, really. --Haspen 01:26, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Glad im not alone seeing that.

  • I thought that too. I'm pretty sure it's pretty strong implications that it's a joke about the two lovely young maiden's menstrual cycle. Clap clap Terraria.

Lava Burns

"I need to have a serious talk with (Name of Guide). How many times a week can you come in with severe lava burns?" Could also be a reference of the lava bucket being the (almost) only way to harm the guide... 91.153.204.74 10:17, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

No, it's a reference to the Guide Voodoo Doll. 151.225.52.44 18:56, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

I got the text also in hardmode need to fix that Something548 (talk) 16:34, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Happiness Text

Circumstances for the "neutral" happiness text: My nurse currently lives in the forest with the merchant (approx 30 tiles away), guide (15 tiles away) and Zoologist (60 tiles away) so I think she'd have approximately neutral Happiness. Malorion (talk) 21:34, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Master mode research required

Currently, we have as much information as was written on the changelog - that in Master mode, the Nurse's prices "increase with game progression". Can someone figure out exactly what this means, please? 72.203.99.244 01:55, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

The following factors appear to affect price, according to the game code (not tested in-game), no matter what mode you're in.
  • The price begins equal to the difference between a player's maximum and current life.
  • Add 100 to the price for each debuff on the player with time left greater than 60 (I think this is frames) other than potion sickness, water candle effect, or creative shock.
  • Multiply by only the highest of the following numbers:
  • 200 if the Golem has been defeated.
  • Otherwise, 150 if Plantera has been defeated.
  • Otherwise, 100 if any mechanical boss has been defeated.
  • Otherwise, 60 if hard mode.
  • Otherwise, 25 if Skeletron or the Queen Bee has been defeated.
  • Otherwise, 10 if Eater of Worlds or the Brain of Cthulhu has been defeated.
  • Otherwise, 3 if the Eye of Cthulhu has been defeated.
  • Otherwise, do not multiply at this step.
  • Multiply by 2 if the player is in expert mode (unsure if this also applies in master mode).
  • Multiply by your happiness discount for the Nurse.
It does not appear to be affected by any other factor. This needs to be tested, but keep in mind happiness effects.--Eagle060087955 (talk) 04:13, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
I have now tested this in expert mode at eater-of-worlds killed, and can confirm that it costs 20 copper per hp (×2 for expert, ×10 for eater of worlds) multiplied by the happiness discount (tested at 80% and 90% discount) and that removing a debuff (mana potion effect) cost the same amount as healing 100 hp. Further testing is required in normal mode and master mode worlds, and possibly at different boss completion to confirm this, but personally the evidence so far makes be very confident in my reading of the game code.--Eagle060087955 (talk) 05:23, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

nurse coming to get you

So i was exploring a jungle cave and after a while i saw the nurse on the mini map (the jungle is very far from spawn) she had no special quotes or anything and when i went back to the surface my nurse was back home. Was this a glitch or something she does? 173.27.119.5 17:41, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

I guess there is a trap which concidentially connect to a Queen Statue, and it teleported the Nurse there. BadPiggy1024 (talk) 23:26, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
