Meowmere

Hello. You've tried to edit statistical information onto Meowmere several times in the past few days. In doing so, you may not have noticed the warning on the page that the only source for information on this item has been stated by developers to be unofficial, and that information should not be added to that page. These edits have been undone; in the future, please only add information from verifiable sources, and be sure to pay attention to any warnings in the article before making additions. Statistics

Please stop adding statistical information to pages regarding DPS, as well as comparing said weapons with other ones. Statistical analyses are better suited to be posted on the forums, as the wiki only contains stats taken directly from the game code. Additionally, saying that a weapon is "unappealing" is downright subjective. I have removed edits of the likes and will continue to remove similar edits in the future. Assistance

First off, please refrain from extensively editing your own talk page. This is largely a record of other user's comments and needs to be preserved for posterity.

As for learning to contribute to the wiki more effectively, please refer to Wikipedia's How to Edit a Page file and this wiki's Style Guide as a reference to what is generally acceptable. As most of the statistical information on the pages here is drawn directly from the game's source code, there's no pressing need to make changes to it. However, there are a large number of guides that beginning users can contribute to, though they're in dire need of cleanup. Generally, though, add things that are useful, remove things that aren't, and use common sense. If you're doing something wrong, we'll let you know. Gearzein (talk) 01:39, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Guide:Surviving in the Hallow

The guide you were writing wasn't deleted, it's been moved to the above link to maintain consistent capitalization with the other guides. Gearzein (talk) 21:10, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Regarding that guide and all future edits, please try to make additions to pages in single, large edits. Use the preview function if you need to check a table's appearance or line breaks or something. Adding dozens of single lines is difficult to review and clogs up the page's history. Comments left on another user's profile aren't logged under Recent Changes, but they don't go unnoticed. Out of curiosity, I checked the time between those threats BHZ left being removed and you coincidentally happening upon the page they were on, finding them and making an administrator aware of them. For your benefit, I'm going to ignore my findings and leave you with some advice. In many places, ban evasion is just as bad, if not worse than, what a user was banned for. Usually, when people learn that someone has come back under a new identity, they assume that any attempt at proving themselves to be a worthwhile contributor is some sort of goofy deception and just block them outright. Realistically, if a person in that position really wanted to contribute, they'd avoid drawing attention to who they used to be and take advantage of a second shot they probably don't deserve. What'd be best for someone in that position would be to get careful about what they do, lest someone with the ability to connect the dots catch wind of them and get rid of them again.

Anyway, vandals get blocked for a reason- no amount of advocacy on their behalf can stop that, and lobbying to get a case reopened can call your own motivations into question, so it'd be best if you just let that dog lie. Thanks, and welcome to Terraria Wiki! Gearzein (talk) 20:18, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
