Armor sets

Sorry for failing on making the armor set pages look nice. Hm. I shouldn't try styling pages anymore. :p By the way, I have started working on the loot log for floating islands. We will need a lot more data though. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Null (talk).

About the translating of wiki into zhTW

since I was trying to get familiar with the wiki details first (ex: like the format, etc.) so i am not going to register and start a project with official yet.

Moreover, it is not easy to translate everything just by myself. Maybe i need a few hand to help with this, too, before this is going to make it becoming a official

Well, the best way to get more people to help is to set up a project, and then advertise it on forums in your language. We don't want you to do it by yourself :D. It would be much preferable if you did this as a registered user. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:53, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Template:Value feedback request.

Did you see the talk at template talk:Value? Long story short, the template is broken. Further more, it is fairly under-used (on the NPC pages only). Unless we integrate prices into the item infobox, I also expect this template to soon see a much wider-spread use. I was re-writing the template at (user:happypal/Value), and wanted your feedback on my current work. happypal (talk • contribs) 09:44, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

infobox + edit section

There is a problem with our infoboxes, and edit sections: the edit section hides behind the boxes. I did a quick fix on eater of worlds, by wrapping the boxes in a floating table, but it is a poor man's fix. I am unsure how to correct the problem. I could always "try" things, but without any real idea of what I'm doing. I thought I bring it to your attention. happypal (talk • contribs) 10:03, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Ummm... I don't seem to have that problem, Skeletron seems fine.... -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 10:56, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok.. I know what the problem is, and it's a problem with media wiki itself when you have multiple floating items. As far as I know, there is no fix for it. The edit links are all there, they are just lower than they should be. Other than developing a "multiple item" infobox that incorporates several things in one template, I'm not sure how else we might get around it. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 11:07, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Indeed, I had not seen the edit button down there, and thought they were behind the boxes. Wrapping the items into a floating table, with transparent background, seems to achieve the desired result. Maybe I'll write a light template called "infobox wrapper" that we can use on pages with multiple infoboxes. Need to think my options through. happypal (talk • contribs) 13:35, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Ok =) For example, do I put the link Sand Block in Categorie:block? or in Categorie:block/fr? (sorry for my english, I'm french ^^) --Djarizeum 11:26, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Your English is fine. Go ahead and translate the category links on the page, just don't create the categories until we get the French subdomain set up. Red category links are fine on translated pages :D -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 11:58, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

PvP Accessories

Thank you for proofing my contribution, I guess in multiple re-readings and phrasings I still missed errors. I wont touch the classes section, even if it says silly things like rushing classes picking 2 regen bands for "better survivability".

You are welcome to edit any part of any page, I just felt that restating the item description which is found on the individual item page was not necessary. Also including notes to other editors is not appropriate within the article itself, but would be fine if placed on the talk page. :D -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 05:52, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Infobox item

Could you add sale price to the item infobox template at Template:Item infobox? It would be very helpful. For example, Amethyst (gem) sells for 5 silver at the NPCs. A link to the finished template is here: User:Null/Sandbox Simply copy everything and paste it into the pre-existing item infobox. The only thing wrong is that not everyone will put the currency in the exact way, for example, 5 Silver, 5 silver, 5-silver, etc.~Null • Talk • Contribs 21:57, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi there Wyn. I've been advised to go see you to talk about the Portuguese translation project. I've already created the project page as you can see, and I hope we are allowed to do so. I will soon be asking for other Portuguese speaking players for help to translate on the forums. Hopefully I find other members up to the job. Mobyduck 21:04, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Can the spambots be prevented with the wiki software? I think you can blacklist links or at least require to fill a CAPTCHA on adding non-whitelisted links in some MediaWiki extension? :) Juze User Juze sig icon.jpg 08:13, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

ReCaptcha, the best of the captchas was broken by bots in January. Other than limiting page creation (as we have done on Minecraft Wiki and don't want to have to do here) and blacklisting the urls as they use them, all that can really be done is have a vigilant community. I think this community is active enough, and has claimed ownership of this wiki to the point that most stuff will be fixed pretty quick. I am still evaluating users for additional sysop positions, so having more than just me, happy, and iK (who is busy with school finals atm) we will have better blocking capability. I have asked for the anti spam extensions to be installed (the are suppose to be a part of any Curse wiki installation but got missed in the rush I think), so hopefully this can be dealt with soon. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 08:28, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
For now, I'm on high vigilance until things get sorted out \(^_^)/ happypal (talk • contribs) 09:04, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

The Abuse filter is helping delete pages that are created by the bots, this is good. However, I'm still fairly certain that 90% of our new users are actually bots. This basically means we are allowing dormant bots to flood our wiki, and they could wake at any time. That and they make our community look bad (inactive). Isn't there anything we can do to even limit the bot creation? I feel as if just reverting their edits is not enough. I noticed there was an "answer this math question" thing on the Russian wiki that we don't have. I'm fairly certain our wiki is low traffic, and any subtle changes we do should be enough to stall them for a little while. That, or we could do the XKCD approach and ask new users to make a constructive edit to judge them :D happypal (talk • contribs) 13:44, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't believe that 90% are bots. There are many many people using this wiki who will never contribute anything, but will register. There is nothing we can do about it regardless, other than stay vigilant for spam and vandalism. I'm fairly certain our wiki is low traffic you'd be 100% wrong in that assumption as our site is getting around 40k unique hits a day, which is a decent amount of traffic for such a young site. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 20:18, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Will we be getting check-user? --JonTheMon 20:37, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
We can if you think it's necessary. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 20:50, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
It might be nice to be able to get a better idea of where the spam bots are coming from and be able to have an IP mask to block chunks of them. That is, of course, unless we don't mind them making useless accounts. --JonTheMon 20:59, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, my numbers are exaggerated, but still. out of 1365 Registered users, only 504 even have an edit. That's not normal for a wiki. What gets on my nerves is you can just tell they are bots when they first sign up. "Sassypatchwork9"? Seriously? I guess as long is we prevent them from vandalizing the wiki, it's ok, I just wish we could be a bit more proactive and screen the users a minimal amount. happypal (talk • contribs) 06:14, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

I just wanted to apologize for my behavior my first week. I realize I was rude and did not listen to you very much. As an admin, I better understand your positions now, and I think you have more hindsight than I do on what's best for the wiki anyways. So yeah, sorry for being the new editor that pushed things around, and thanks for having the patience for not banning me :D happypal (talk • contribs) 15:30, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. I promise I'm not an evil dictator. I was also under a lot of pressure to make this successful. The best way to success is to build a solid foundation which I believe I had done (in just over 24hrs fyi). I needed to see that foundation remain to be built upon, not just fragmented into pieces. The thing about a wiki is if it's a good one, with a solid community behind it, it is a living, growing thing, unlike static websites that are under the control of a single designer/editor. To make them really work you have to interact with others in the community and take their ideas and views into consideration with every change you wish to see, you can't just make sweeping changes. As time goes on, I will be moving farther away from the center of discussions and actions, as the leaders of the community emerge. I saw the potential in you for that kind of role as you are wiki smart, and didn't give up when I countered you all the time. I believe this wiki has a great community behind it. The way the new patch was integrated was a good sign. There are solid data miners, though I'd like to see some more creative images (like the triple mob images I created out of the various positions of the sprites), but that will come in time. As the game and community grow and mature, so will the wiki. Pages that are stubs now will expand into full articles, don't limit the possibilities, expand them. As the translation projects get completed, we will be working with an international team of admins, you all have to be able to talk to each other, kick around ideas, develop policies and standards that will carry across each wiki in the group. I urge you to get to know the leaders of the translation projects, I believe the Russian wiki will be set up next week (I was hoping for this week, but blech). While each of these wikis are technically separate, with their own databases, and communities, it's important that we retain a consistent feel over all of them. Now, I'm back to trying to get my jungle helmet :D -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 15:57, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

terraria class & infobox/crafting recipe

I change the style of crafting recipe, from manual html, to our standardized terraria class style. I noticed that our boxes have both grey and blue borders. I wanted to know how you feel about those: Should everything be blue? Were some boxes meant to be grey, or was the grey color more of a "default placeholder"?
Anyways, if you look at a page like Silver Armor, which goxes do you think should be grey? If we want the crafting recipes back to grey, we can keep the terraria class, and just have an explicitly boder:grey override the class. happypal (talk • contribs) 07:06, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Sigh... I wanted the infobox and the crafting recipe to keep the grey border, that's why I did them the way they were. That's one reason I hadn't changed the infobox style :P -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:14, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Wow, that failed so miserably I feel a little shame. Turns out there is just too much conflict with margins and padding. I fully reverted back to html. Guess we could always have an recipe style, but I think it is fine the way it is. happypal (talk • contribs) 07:29, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

You tube video policy

I think is time we have one... Some pages have close to 4 embedded videos, which is way too much. Most of them are completly opiniated, and are promoting edit was. We'll have to give some guidelines, and enforce them, sooner or later.
Here is a rough draft of how I think we should incorporate videos on the wiki. What are your thoughts? happypal (talk • contribs) 12:18, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

happy proposal 1

  • Embedded videos are permitted in articles, but only when an animation is warranted, and cannot be fulfilled by a picture alone. Examples would include the moving or attack patter of enemies, the spark effect of Certain game elements, the run distance before the Boots of Hermes kick in etc...
  • Embedded videos should be completely neutral, and entirely illustration, preferably without voiced (or written) comments, and re-useable in our alternative-language wikis.
  • Any other video, such as strategy, review, opinions, guides etc. may be included if they are judged note-worthy by the community, but will remain as a textual link in a dedicated == videos == section".

I quite like this one, but it questions me, what could be done else? I often take a look at other Curse wikies such as Minecraft Wiki and Guild Wars Wiki and see how they've done it. Also sometimes at Transformice Wiki. An example can be found here: [1] Juze User Juze sig icon.jpg 12:22, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

The proposal works for me, but only on mainspace pages. Guides need to have a bit more leniency. The only problem I see is the "judged noteworthy by the community" each editor is a member of the community, and they all want to up their own videos hits... I knew this was going to be an issue, but rather than send the traffic off wiki, it was decided to start embedding videos instead. (I am not sure how embedded videos work with youtube's video hit system .... whether they count or not). Also, with videos on so many pages, it's going to take vigilance to maintain, and it's going to be a nightmare with every patch. Keep in mind, we don't "vote" on wikis, so the process for determining which videos are "noteworthy" or the best for each page needs to be determined prior to implementing any policy. I would suggest we take this off my talk page, and do an actual policy proposal Terraria Wiki:Video policy proposal. Link it on the Community portal and let's get more input. I already tried to get the forum involved in some sort of selection process, but Kane doesn't want anything to do with it. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 12:29, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Well the "judged noteworthy by the community" was merely for textual links, and is probably the best we can come up with. Because it is text, it'll leave room for minimal amount of duplication (less war), and more videos per page (allows for more content), without bloating it. Of course, as admins, it is our job to let users think they can vote, but we have the final word :p
I believe seeing a video is a hit, regardless of origin. The advantage of having it embedded is that the user are more prone to watch, and don't interrupt their reading of the wiki. That said, I think the only valid consideration is if we want the video to be a part of the page, or just related to the page: part=embed, related=link.
This would be for mainspace, yes. Guide space can do whatever it wants. BTW, do we allow "authored" guides? A guide cannot be 100% neutral by definition, and sometimes, it is best to just say "This guide was written by Dr. Bob (and he may maintain it as he wishes)", rather than war over said guide. happypal (talk • contribs) 12:41, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
No, we don't allow "authored" guides.. that's what the forum's guide section is for. Everything on the wiki is collaboratively edited (including policy pages). Let's get this proposal created asap so we can get community disussion going please. I really dont' want it to continue on my talk page. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 12:47, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I hoped someone would raise this issue eventually. I'm not a big fan of the embedded videos, especially not when there are multiple ones on the same page. Also, on the topic of authored guides, I agree with Wynthyst. Wikis lose a lot of their "formality" when such subjective articles exist on them. A factual collaborative one already has the potential to become very cluttered, as can be seen on the Skeletron page. Where will the policy draft be put up once finalised? The embedded videos are rather popular, as far as I can tell, and this might generate some discussion. SilverSwift 00:18, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
The red link above is the appropriate place for the policy proposal to go. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 00:20, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, the group permissions to edit the interwiki table didn't get changed. Other than that, unless you read and write Russian, there's not much to be done. I thought I could participate in the whole move pages around, and strip links. Actually, I'm not sure I can do that, since I wouldn't know where to move them! Yeah, the link I added to the mainpage will create that sidebar link as soon as I can get in and edit the interwiki data table. Those links will need to be added to every page that has a corresponding page on the Russian wiki, but we have to wait until the pages are moved to the correct name. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 08:20, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

AWB warning

Just a warning: I tried using AWB, and it would appear to write its pages to Api.php. I immediately ceased usage, and protected the page from future edits; I hope that isn't breaking anything? You probably have more knowledge/authority on the matter. I think we should either fully block AWB, or support it correctly. happypal (talk • contribs) 10:23, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Or maybe I just suck? I'll wait your feedback before doing anything anyways. happypal (talk • contribs) 10:27, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
AWB is problematic with Curse wikis. Especially this one because it's got a weird server set up. Since no bot flags have been established, any edits will show up in RC. I don't know that there is any real way to block it's usage, but I don't think it can be used very successfully at this time anyway. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 10:28, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

If you are going to not use Main Page as the main page, at the very least, please make it a redirect to your new main page. That would at least make more sense. LikeLakers2 01:02, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Why? Where is there a link to Main Page? A redirect is completely unnecessary. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 01:26, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
If someone forgets the main page is Terraria Wiki instead of Main Page, and goes to Main Page, its so they will get redirected to the actual Main Page. Like I did. Which is one reason I posted this to you. LikeLakers2 01:38, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't know where you would be going to Main Page from.. I mean, it's never existed, and other than you continually creating links to it there is no reason for anyone to ever use it. I mean, if you use the Main page link in the nav bar (which is available from every page on the wiki therefore, no search should ever be necessary), it will take you to the correct page. There should not be any existing bookmarks, since it never existed. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 01:53, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't know, I'd have to agree with LikeLakers2 on that one. Even if no links exist, I know a lot of people navigate directly with the address bar, and going to "Main Page" is an old mediawiki habit that dies hard, especially since every other media wiki whose front page isn't on Main Page does have a redirect (hence no need to change old habits). All this to say users can (and will) go to that page. Further more, given the message on the page "This page has been deleted... blablabla", it is more than just an inconvenience, it makes it look like an incomplete and botched mediawiki installation. Looks unprofessional.
That and it's just a redirect... happypal (talk • contribs) 07:10, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Fine, I personally think it's totally and completely unnecessary, and I totally don't get why anyone would bother typing all of that into an address bar when the URL is enough to get you here. But I guess there's no accounting for bizarre behavior. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:16, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi there, first I want to thank for all the work you have done. Hereby is a copy of what I posted on the french translation discussion [23] :

Hello, there is already a complete wiki for Terraria from the french community [24] I think it would be interesting to find a way to set both together other than work each on their side. I tried to contact the admins on their domain. I've no reply yet, but I was able to find past conversations: It is mainly filled with disgust and hostility towards our project. I don't think we'll find any grounds for cooperation. I wouldn't hold my breath for anything, and think we should have our community continue their work here (just in case you had wiki-fr on pause? not sure...) That and I think that even "Under Developement", we have something better going on. happypal (talk • contribs) 06:23, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
I had no intention of pausing our project, as I believe we will provide the better product. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 06:53, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Drops Talk Page

Is there any way there could be a Talk page for drops/drop rates? I'm new to wiki editing, so I don't know about things like this. The majority of Drops section discussion has been on Happypal's Talk page, but I've talked with others about it. I've spent a bit of time working on monster drops, and it'd be nice to merge the discussion into one place. Thank you for your time. --KoreRekon 00:25, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Feel free to create Drops. I was actually provided with some information from the devs (which I'm sure is now obsolete) that I'm sure you are able to data mine from the program, but I couldn't figure out how to present it in a usable way when I set the wiki up. I'm sure you can come up with something. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 00:30, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I can read the game's code, but Happypal figured out how to present it. Woot, my first link to a user's talk page. I'm starting to learn wiki-fu. --KoreRekon 00:56, 11 June 2011 (UTC) (I changed it to Drops since I want it to be about that general section or a monster's page)
Please don't change what I did. I'm not talking about just a talk page, I'm talking about a full page that includes a talk page. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 01:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
I apologize. That really should have been common sense, I'm sorry. Is it OK if I call the page Drops instead of Drop Rates, since it's about what monsters drop, and not just the rate at which they drop them? Whatever it's called, is it OK if I copy the drop rate conversation from Happypal's talk page onto the new talk page? --KoreRekon 01:16, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Fine. The name can be debated later... let's just get the page developed and see where it goes. And yes, you can copy (but not cut) the discussion from happypal's talk just leave a note as to where it's being continues and acknowledge that's where it came from -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 01:20, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
I really didn't mean to be difficult. I just wanted an easier way to collaborate on the presentation of drops. Give me about a half hour and I'll have an alphabetized list of items that drop from monsters, including the rate, which will make the talk page worth it. --KoreRekon 01:37, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

I wish you would have givin' me another half hour to work on the page before you formatted it. I'm really tired of looking at code, the format I used worked for me. My wife is playing Texas Hold 'Em, while I adapt to your format. --KoreRekon 02:50, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Sorry Kore... just undo my edit and let me know when you are finished, and I will go back and reformat it. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 05:09, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Front Page

Why did Bone Serpent get removed from the front page, it's still a monster. It's called Doctor Bones, not Dr. Bones. There is no "Bat", only Cave Bat and Jungle Bat. The Dead Miner is now called Undead Miner, and it doesn't seem rare. It's called The Groom, not Groom. Pinky deserves a spot in the new rare monster group. I know front page edits need to be approved, but I haven't figured out how to propose them. --KoreRekon 02:21, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Russian wiki problem

Hello. Seems like something was broken yesterday. Check infobox of this page:Темный_маг Ctrl C avatar.jpg Ctrl+C at 03:26, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm looking into it Ctrl... be patient, it seems everything is blowing up tonight. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 04:41, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
It's a mediawiki parser problem: the "if" is not eating the leading spaces, causing it to parse each cell with an extra "pre". I did a poor fix by removing spaces from the template (I also accidently edited teh english one... Nothing broken, so I didn't undo it). I don't know why it happened, but it is fixed now. That said, I think it should be migrated to a more maintainable table tr td format: you never have stupid parser problems with those. happypal (talk • contribs) 08:00, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
The Curse network is experiencing some global sql errors that are making sites act wacky across the network. I was hoping that was the problem and that it would correct itself once all the global problems were resolved. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 08:10, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Well, that could be what triggered it? I was able to correct all their templates with patchwork, except the crafting recipes ones. I'll give up if I can't, and see if it is still broken tomorrow... happypal (talk • contribs) 08:15, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
We may end up having to reinstall the parser functions extension. And I have no other explanation of what could have caused it. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 09:02, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

I fixed their last broken template, using explicit html tables (as opposed to wiki tables). I've found wiki tables usually caused more harm than good on bigger templates (because of the ambiguous "|"/{{!}} symbols): I don't know your stance on explicit html, but that's how I fixed it. happypal (talk • contribs) 12:26, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. I've just had a really bad night with the entire curse network getting borked and no one but me being online. We will probably have to reinstall the parser functions extension as it appears to have gotten corrupted with the sql error somehow. Makes me want to scream, but thanks for dealing with it. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 12:43, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

And there comes another crash with PHP libs on Russian wiki. Check site please. Ctrl C avatar.jpg Ctrl+C at 17:40, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you are seeing, you can't affect the css globally. I would suggest you refresh your cache. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 06:42, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I fixed it. BTW, is it intentional that the columns aren't aligned? I fixed it in the edit copy, but since somebody put an explicit "width:90%" to keep it from being aligned, I wasn't sure. Please advise. happypal (talk • contribs) 06:46, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Edit: I don't think you had time to see it, there was an open div tag, breaking the bottom banner. happypal (talk • contribs) 06:48, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I totally didn't get that. First, I am completely opposed to breaking up the main page into a series of transcluded pages. That is not ever going to happen, so it might as well just stop now. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 06:52, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh blech, I didnt' even know that page existed... just ignore me for the moment. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 06:54, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
With the CSS Curse white text and all that, it happened to me when I was playing with my page. I forgot how, but the table took the whole page with it and messed up the bottom text. ~Null (T-C) 18:04, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

File:Goldfish.png and File:Goldfish (NPC).png are actually different, it's just the image cache screwing me around showing them to be duplicates. I just reuploaded the NPC one I tagged for deletion and what you deleted. <_< Now that I reverted my change to Goldfish.png, it now shows to be a duplicate? I mean, what... o_O Juze User Juze sig icon.jpg 07:03, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

The server has an internal image cache of 10 minutes. Let's just both stop doing anything for a bit. The software compares images, and will only indicate duplicates where all data on the image is the same. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:05, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

There is both Goldfish (Item) and Goldfish (NPC), each of which has it's own graphic item. So, I'll be undeleting Goldfish (NPC), unless I missed something? happypal (talk • contribs) 07:04, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

I just posted above. :D Juze User Juze sig icon.jpg 07:05, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh wait, I suggest merging them by the way. Same for Corrupt Goldfish. Juze User Juze sig icon.jpg 07:05, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
No, no merge. One is an NPC, one is an inventory item that is acquired when the NPC is killed. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:06, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I just noticed we was all walking on each others' toes. Doing something else now. happypal (talk • contribs) 07:07, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Wow, we're all messing around with everything, I didn't even mean to merge them. Let's just stop doing anything for 10 minutes. :P Juze User Juze sig icon.jpg 07:21, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you all were doing, but the front page under monsters... that should link to the goldfish npc. The goldfish npc page links it to the golfish item already. Also Corrupt goldfish is already linked in the front page. The whole goldfish page with all 3 in them is very confusing and shouldn't even be there :(. But the front page should definitely link to the golfish npc rather than the group of the 3 goldfish as that is what the monster is! -- ❤Kalilla❤ 07:57, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Honestly, if a user manages to trigger that filter, either A) they deserved it (this case) or B) they were doing something that seemed suspicious but we need to tweak the filter. As it has been triggered a total of once, it's not a big deal, and it's easy enough to keep an eye on it. And plenty of exceptions were built into it to try to assume good faith. But if you feel that the abuse filter caught someone wrong, then feel free to bring it up to an admin or the noticeboard. --JonTheMon 18:13, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

King Slime Page & Talk Page

Hello again Wynthyst. I made a few contributions to the King Slime page today and would like to know if its alright or not. First off I wanted to confirm the trivia question that there is a Ninja inside the King Slime. I've personally never seen the King Slime and after a few hours of trying I couldn't confirm or deny the statement. So I've linked two youtube videos in the discussion page to show the King Slime and that there is a slight resemblance of a ninja actually in the King Slime. So I did a little digging and found the King Slime sprite (it was NPC_50.xnb), the Ninja Sprite (it was called Ninja.xnb), and the bubbles that surround King Slime while it moves is within the Dust.xnb file (I'm pretty sure its the 2nd to last column of blue bubbles in there). I used the Ninja Suit picture on the site since someone has already uploaded it and put the Ninja behind King Slime and made King Slime slightly transparent. This resembles a more clear picture of the Ninja inside the King Slime and gave a brief description of how it works. Please visit the King Slime page and its discussion to make sure everything I did was a valid post. If the youtube videos should not be in the discussion then feel free to remove them. I didn't post the Youtube tag, just a simple link to the site. If this is unnecessary then please remove them. I simply wanted to provide a source of proof as I can not provide a picture of it in game since I've personally never seen it :(. Thanks again Wynthyst!-- ❤Kalilla❤ 02:46, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

I made a reply about a youtube video that I made. I haven't posted it on the King Slime page yet, just linked you to it in the description. Let me know if its material worth using or not :) Thanks -- ❤Kalilla❤ 03:00, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Crafting Recipe Template

{{crafting recipe | name = Ivy Whip | tool = Iron Anvil | item1 = Grappling Hook | item2 = Vine | item3 = Jungle Rose | amount1 = 1 | amount2 = 3 | amount3 = 30 }}

Hello again Wynthyst! I'm wondering if there is a way to make the Result surrounded by [[ ]], or make it a link. Like, if that table was posted under the Ivy Whip page then it would be bold and black with no link, but if it was posted somewhere else it would be a hyperlink. I tried surrounding the result with a [[ ]] but it just ruined the picture right next to it, so I decided against it. Thanks for any reply -- ❤Kalilla❤ 06:37, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Did you seriously do that that fast or was that someone else >_> lol -- ❤Kalilla❤ 06:38, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

=== Third Level Sections ===

On the Defense page. Is it to avoid a lines on the page? While I'm not against it (our pages are nice and clean), it might be better to css it so that we can use normal 2nd level headers everywhere, without those lines. happypal (talk • contribs) 07:32, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

No, it's to facilitate the transclusion on Game mechanics -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:33, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm trying to consolidate some of these smaller pages into a more comprehensive overview page. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:34, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
I see it now. That's why the merge is noinclude. I had searched the "what links here" specifically for a transclusion, but defense is submerged in links from the enemy infoboxes. Looks good to me, but a few inlined css comments might be in order. I'd also "includeonly" the top level titles, so that a user who wants to edit "defense" would go straight to the defense page, but details. happypal (talk • contribs) 07:38, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
They can alternatively use the links created by the self linking "bolds" I've tried to have included in the first sentence of every page I've transcluded. That's why I strongly prefer the self linking to achieve the bold rather than a simple '''Bold''' -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:42, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Unrelated Terraria Picture Uploads

I'm wondering if there is a picture policy against uploading pictures that aren't related to terraria. For instance if I wanted to upload the MSN icon, AOL icon, or Yahoo messenger icon. I understand (I think) that it isn't possible to have a picture show from an external site (for obvious reasons of vandalism) so that is why I ask first before I do so. These pictures would be for my profile/talk page so there are ways to contact me other than my talk page. I know text would do just as well as a picture along with text but I think it would add to the element, but of course isn't needed at all and that is why I ask. Please let me know if it is allowed or not, I understand the site wouldn't want people to upload a bunch of random pictures just to post on their talk page and take up site usage. It would only be 4 but if it is a policy I completely understand. Let me know please :) -- ❤Kalilla❤ 12:59, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
