Standardizes the display of a link to an archived version of a website.

Usage

{{ archived link | <original URL> | archive-url = <URL to archived version> | <custom display text> | archive-date = <creation date of the archive> | short = y/yes }}

First unnamed parameter

Original URL which was archived.

archive-url

Link to the archive.

Second unnamed parameter

Display text for the link, defaults to $archive-url.

archive-date

Timestamp of the creation of the archived version, in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Must be a valid string that is accepted by {{#time:}}, i.e. PHP's strtotime() function.

short

Suppresses the display of the explanatory note and instead adds a hover text to the link.

Notes

• The first unnamed parameter can also be a valid Wayback Machine link or archive.is/archive.ph link (long format), in which case $archive-url and $archive-date are automatically determined and can be omitted.
