minor gripe

I know that this is probably is rather low priority right now (given all the recent changes from 1.4) but I think that it would be a good idea to edit this guide in reference to the recent nerfs to meteorite gear that where introduced (in that a meteorite will not fall until after the eater of worlds is defeated for the first time) Sidon the zora (talk) 00:27, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

A Tale to Tell

Twice so far I have encounterd the EoW after smashing Shadow Orbs and, being as I didn't prepare at all in adance, had to fight it in the caves. I actually had no trouble doing so. I had a Ball 'O Hurt from the orbs and just grappled to the ceiling, so I could easily see him coming. I didn't have much of an option to dodge, (so I used a few potions,) but I got plenty of clear shots at him. I did this first with a Silver Armor set, then a Shadow Armor set. -- TechpriestMagos 23:26, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Teleportation

if you made your spawn point at one of the corruption sites and then broke 3 (or your third) orb at the other site, could you teleport back to the other corruption site without the worm disappearing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.62.78.251 at 02:45, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

'terrain preparation' section

"If you are summoning Eater of Worlds by breaking Shadow Orbs, building a full-scale arena for every third orb or even trying to get all the way up to the surface is probably impractical. In that case, you will still benefit from taking time for terrain prep as shadow orbs are located in confined spaces and not being able to move around can get you trapped as Eater of Worlds circles around you..."

What about teleporting back to your arena using the Magic Mirror as soon as you break the 3rd orb?--Correctaphobia (talk) 08:11, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Edit: found answer to my question

Good Swords for EoW

When I fought the EoW with a enchanted sword, it was a cakewalk. Also, the Bee Keeper can be extremely helpful, granted you can kill the queen bee before summoning the EoW. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StardustDragonGuardian521 (talk • contribs) at 15:43, 8 February 2016

No armor and a wooden bow with fire arrows

Fighting with EoW for 1st time with no armor and a wooden bow. I did it,and i was a piece of cake,i could make it a challenge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonhof04 (talk • contribs) at 04:31, 15 March 2016

Tips that don't make sense

Under the Tips section, it says that it is recommended to build NPC houses for nurse and druid. In the case of EoW I don't see how that's possible, as NPC houses needs to be 50 blocks away from corruption (right?) while this specific boss will despawn if it goes outside of the corruption biome. Could this please be explained or perhaps it should be removed as a tip all together if it's incorrect?

Although it would take some effort, NPC housing can be created in the Corruption/Crimson using Sunflowers to reduce the corruption/crimson rating. Here is information transcluded from the House page:

While this is absolutely true, it is an effort I doubt many players are willing to make. Hence, I removed this specific bullet point. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 13:09, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

It also says to summon it at 7:30 and to bring the moon stone which is impossible for that stage of the game and the eater can be summoned at any time Awesomeimp (talk) 20:42, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

That is correct, I removed that part. Thank you for reporting! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 00:53, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

just a wee suggestion

is there anyway someone could setup the armour and gear suggestions in all the boss guide strategies to be like the Class Loadouts/Setups page?

Volcano Shadow Scales

The gearing up section states "The Volcano is exceptionally strong against this boss, but can only be obtained by gathering the Shadow Scales dropped by defeated segments." I don't think it is necessary at all to fight the Eater Of Worlds before obtaining the Volcano, It also talks about this with the Molten Fury. FLA5H4420 (talk) 17:18, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Um, the Volcano requires Hellstone, which in turn requires the Nightmare pickaxe, which in turn requires (6) Shadow Scales. Pls explain.

Thank you

Thank you whoever revoked my Night's Edge edit, I realized I should have put it on the "Guide: Making Money" page
