Guide talk:Skeletron Prime strategies

Who the hell recommends the full hallowed set for players who have not yet beat any hardmode boss, WHEN you have to beat hardmode bosses to aquire said set?

It recommends Adamantite armor. As you have to kill him multiple times to acquire all the souls needed for hardmode weapons/items, unless you decide to craft something different, you will have full Hallowed armor on any subsequent battle. This is all under the assumption that you leave Skeletron Prime for last as the guide suggest. However many people fight him after The Destroyer because he is quite easy to kill with the Megashark while The Twins can prove to be much more difficult the first time because the fight is completely different than the Eye of Cthulhu battle, while Prime can be fought like the regular Skeletron.

THE USEFUL BUG ISN'T WORKING AND I FEEL THE NEED TO TYPE IN CAPS NOW

I'm very annoyed trying to beat him to get the souls necessary for better weapons/armour, because of how difficult of a boss he is. I read the guide strategy for tips, which included the bug that you summon him at a very high altitude and make his limbs vanish, which doesn't work anyway. WHY PUT IT THERE IF IT'S FAKE? We want to know real ways not some to-good-to-be-true bug which is easily initiated, or so they say.

-Extra Tip- It is actually possible to tank Skeletron Prime solo. With the recent update (1.2), the Spectre Armour has a spell vampire effect, meaning that if you use a spell with high DPS, you can outheal damage done to you. A good spell to use would have to be Magnetic Sphere, or if you have it, the Rainbow Gun.

-- It seems though there may be a glitch with the `wear turtle armor to kill him` exploit

Better Strategy

I would not recommend using an arena for any boss (except maybe the destroyer, since it is so fast)

This is how I defeated Skeletron Prime (with only pre- mechanical boss stuff):

Weapon: Dart rifle with crystal darts Armor: Adamantite/Frost (hallowed armor is SO underpowered...) Equipment: Ranger Emblem, Moon Stone, Charm of Myths, Wings, Spectre Boots (total defense = 47. I could have increased it to around 60, but I couldn't find my adamantite helmet)

My strategy: Attack with crystal darts, while constantly running/flying away so the only attack that can hit me is the lasers (which are easy to dodge when you're running away)

It was really easy...
