Blindfold

In this page, it says blindfold are also dropped by Black Slime (which means it is obtainable without hardmode), but it is not in the list of non-HM item and other pages does not say black slimes drop it, which is correct? FunAlways (talk) 09:59, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Lucky? Or bug?

I play console, and when I started hardmode (noob alert) I decided to grind the ankh shield. After doing some research, I started grinding. I got the drops for each item within 13 kills. Am I just lucky, or is it some sort of console-related bug?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.11.240.242 at 03:29, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

To me this appears strange. The chance of a 1% chance happening with X attempts can supposedly be calculated with 1-(0.99)^X. 1-(0.99)^13 is 0.12%, and if I'm correct then 0.12^9 (9 accessories) is the chance of this happening 9 times in a row. This yields a 0.0000000062% probability, which is pretty slim. Might be wrong as my math skills are rather poor though! Given the uncertainty I don't think it should be labeled as a bug, and even if it is I don't think most players would find it a problem. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 13:27, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Note that 1-(0.99)^13=0.12=12%. Also some enemies (e.g. Pixie) can drop multiple items needed for the Ankh Charm. But yes, this happening 9 times in a row is indeed very unlikely. Maybe the console version has an increased drop chance? (People were complaining about the low drop rate on the pc version, so this wouldn't surprise me.) --0icke0 (talk) 09:27, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
Ah, right, I know that such factors represent percentages (or that 1 = 100%). A small typo on my part! Thank you for joining in, in matters like these it's convenient with more than one person to check numbers. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 16:43, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
