Any tips on how to farm it?

Is it possible that the drone only spawns during night? (in 1.3.0.5). i have never even seen it on radar during day! 85.70.185.126 16:58, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

broken in 1.3.0.6

It despawns instantly after tagging it with a vamp knife. 77.173.20.251 20:16, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Spawn rate

The day I killed Golem, I found and killed 3 Probes on my way to the beach. I failed to kill one before it escaped and it triggered the event. Now I wish to trigger it again and I can't find another probe for the life of me. I waited 2 in-game days on the beach with a water candle for one to come, but no luck.. Do I have to kill Golem again to make more spawn? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrYyelo (talk • contribs) at 05:51, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

After Golem's defeat, probes spawns occur normally, and defeating Golem again won't influence their rate of appearance at all. They may be rare but they won't just "dry up". You may want to try waiting in space instead, where their spawn rate is increased. Gearzein (talk) 11:36, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing that up for me, I don't know what happened. I tried using the "+New discussion" link, but it just kinda tacked my question on the end of the previous one. I've never used wiki discussion pages before. I tried waiting in space but I didn't encounter any. Weird how I encountered so many on a short walk to the beach while on the surface layer but waiting around for half an hour in space yielded none. I guess I was just unlucky.MrYyelo (talk) 14:13, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Multiplayer Summoning

(1.3.0.8) In a Multiplayer server, at least one that is hosted on someone's computer via Terrariaserver.exe, Martian Probes have been observed to spawn for any players - though they will appear to be in completely different locations if there are two different clients in the same spot. Additionally, the Martian Madness event does not seem to start whatsoever if any player (other than the one who is hosting the server) is spotted by the probe and lets it despawn. This is what I have observed, at least.

The article says that if the Martian Probe despawns while a player is following it, that this will not trigger the Martian Invasion. This does not track with my experiences. I wonder if there's a known issue or a change? Any insights? Berggen (talk) 14:22, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Do Probes spawn if the player is behind a wall in space?

If a player is behind a wall, Wyverns won't spawn, what about Martian Probes?
