Defense

So how high was the defence before? Nevermind. I watched the video. And that was clearly overpowered! - 84.250.43.107 01:39, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Anomally or Bug?

Ok,there is some OBVIUS bug there, but its listed a annormaly As i don't want to start a huge edit war, please, can we all agree its a bug? I mean,Vanity armor is OBVIUSLY only supposed to make you look better, not give some boost. EDIT:Nobody seems to reply, what ever.--ILikeMushroons 16:42, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Question. Does meteorite armor do the same thing? --Theothersteve7 17:07, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, it does. It seems that the engine is looking for the appearance of the whole set for the particle effects rather than the function of it. 98.253.228.227 12:28, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
IDK, but i love using meteorite armor on top of my molten armors... Just because meteorite looks better :) and as vanity, it does not give any boost (i don't think fire particles is a boost...)-Unnamed wiki-helper(HE did not put is signature on end of post) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.117.125.29 at 18:34, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Actually,it is,they give off LIGHT,so it is a "Boost"(Or buff,not sure).--ILikeMushroons 13:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
EDIT:Somebody marked it as...Anormally again.Please,WHY. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ILikeMushroons (talkcontribs) at 02:44, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
RE-EDIT:Ok,it was jack.Just a note,yes i did look all the story after my edit,it was him.--ILikeMushroons 02:47, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
How is it a bug? It would look very strange if you were surrounded on flames despite not wearing the molten armour, or if you were wearing it in a social slot and suddenly there's no flames. It's more a visual effect than as a buff, and it's not even listed as a set bonus. 78.105.8.153 21:19, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I was the original person who listed it as an anomaly. I did so because I felt listing it as a bug required insight into the developers' intent for the set's function. Since I could not find anything in-game or in patch notes to say that the set's light effect was not supposed to work in its current form, I listed it as an anomaly. Now, it would make some sense for visual effects to be linked to appearance (read: vanity slots) but I can't think of any equipment that has a set effect of any kind while in vanity slots, barring the high-level equipment sets' sparkle and light effects. I'm also starting to believe that the molten set's light effect was not intended to work in a vanity slot. Since the mining helmet's light effect does not work in a vanity slot, but does work in an equip slot while covered up, the devs may indeed consider light effects to be a functional effect that should not be applied in a vanity slot. If so, then this is indeed a bug and should be listed as one. --TatharNuar 22:25, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

i got this much obsidian

i got (checking game for a moment) 168 obsidian, does that mean i can make the molten leggings and molten chainmail? becuase im cutting close to 2 pieces (2/3 = half) of the set, all i need to do is generate a small world make a hellavator and get me some nice obsidian, but currently i have yet to find the nether due to not being able to go striaght offmap anymore (reason -my very first server crashed, it was one of the erliest ones before 1.0.5) so i guess i gotta reach the nether the very crappy old fashioned way now... but the question is: do i have enough obsidian to make the proper ammount of hellstone for about 2/3 of the equipment? Why is helmet price an anomaly?

Helmets being worth the most money is true for all ore based armors. This isn't unusual and is actually the norm so why was it listed as an anomaly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.159.254 at 06:15, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Fixed. --0icke0 (talk) 08:18, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Does the set grant you lava immunity

I have a set and I’ve been exploring the underworld and I like REALLY don’t want to lose my coins so is it lava immune??? Yeetmcgee345 (talk) 00:42, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

No. However, the Obsidian Skin Potion grants immunity to lava damage, and the Lava Charm allows being safely submerged in lava for seven seconds. See Lava for more information. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 11:28, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Thx Yeetmcgee345 (talk) 01:25, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

Buffed

I’m actually glad they buffed the molten armor, the added immunity to fire is great too Exo678 (talk) 23:55, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Molten armor animation

Don't know where (or if I should) put this on the page, but looking at the sprites and testing in game, Molten armour's head and legs seem to have a pulsing glow on the fire parts as you walk. (not glow as in produce light, the actual texture brightens and darkens) Kirby Baker (talk) 13:07, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
