Merge

I feel the individual phaseblade pages have no use: They bring nothing that isn't already in this phaseblade article. Overall, keeping them is counter-productive, and I feel they should be merged into Phaseblade. The old pages can be changed into a redirect, and a category can be left behind, so that the individual weapons still appear the Category:Weapon items. Happypal 07:42, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Can you explain how they are "counter productive" or harmful to the wiki? BTW, redirects should not be categorized. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 07:45, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
They are counterproductive in that every time somebody has something to say about a phaseblade, they'll notice the 7 different articles. They'll realize they'll have to edit all 7 articles, and think "Screw this", and not provide the edit. That, or they'll make a single edit to say "Purple Phaseblade", making the overall pages a mess of random information. When users will actually want to know more about phaseblades, they'll either be lost, or miss half the information, since they won't bother to read each of the different pages. By having them all in a single page, there is only one centralized source of information: Editors will make clean uniform edits, and readers will get information.
Redirects should not be categorized as redirects for the sake of categorizing. That said, there is nothing wrong with categorizing the page, even if its content is on another page. In particular, Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects#Categorization of list entries: "Some well-organized lists have redirects pointing at their subsections. In such cases, categorization of the redirects can be an alternative way of browsing entries in a long list". IE: users browsing Category:Weapon items will still see the "Yellow Phaseblade", the article content just so happen to be elsewhere. Happypal 07:57, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Well, then for consistency sake, you would follow this with "All slime pages should be merged." I personally feel more is better. This is a community wiki, if someone fails to place a note on all the pages, someone else will add what the first one missed, so using that as an excuse to merge isn't valid imo. But let's see what the rest of the community has to say. -- Wynthyst File:Curseicon.png talk 08:04, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Given the current pages, I also think slimes would be better merged. That said, because I hope the articles will grow to have enough interesting content on their own, I think they should be left alone. That said, I don't think the Phaseblade articles will ever have any interesting information that can't be found on the main Phaseblade. More is better - true, but not when it's copy paste. I'll leave it at that for now. Happypal 08:10, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Unlike the slimes, there is no functional difference between Phaseblades. Seperate pages serve no purpose until such time as this is changed, which I suspect will never happen. Having six pages that say the same thing with one word changing provides no more information than having one page, does nothing to better sort the information (quite the opposite, really), and also makes updating a more tedious affair - not something you want on a wiki. Merge 'em. Thexare 08:37, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Wynthyst, what is your take here? I'm not sure if you were against, or were just pushing for a discussion. Without opposition, I will make the merge effective in 24h. Happypal 06:57, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm with Happypal and Thexare. Unless and until Phaseblades get some sort of unique functionality for each color, I also think the pages should be merged. The individual recipe boxes should all be kept, as is the case with the combined Armor pages. Vissith 07:30, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm supporting Happypal too. The Phaseblades are just the same weapon recolored. Their stats are not different. --Demian 09:02, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Done. Happypal 09:11, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Thoughts? Happypal 09:12, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Or, I could just put 6 different crafting tables, but I think that would be a waste of a merge. Happypal 09:15, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm in favor of the merge itself, but I'm not sure these super-mashed-together recipe boxes are really clear. 10 of any gems? What blade comes out? etc. I don't think it would be bad to keep them all separate. Vissith 09:26, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
I think the first table works best. Having separate tables would be pretty useless. --Demian 09:37, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Range

I think the phaseblade's length has been reduced in the 1.0.6 Patch. could some1 veryfy and add this if correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.224.249.69 at 14:24, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Error

It says that the phaseblade has auto-swing, even though this is clearly not true. Can someone fix this? 209.43.7.130 19:17, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Phaseblade Damage

I was looking at the wiki page for the Phaseblades and saw that it showed 21 damage. I then proceeded to craft one ingame (this is on PC) and noticed the base damage was 22. I'm not sure if the page needs to be updated, or if the Phaseblades were recently changed to do more damage. Either way, though, it seems there is a mistake in the wiki page. If I am mistaken, do let me know. Thanks.

The damage value (and most other values) is taken directly from the game's source code. Make sure to un-equip any armor and accessories, cancel any buffs and use a non-reforged weapon before checking the value.

That was likely the problem as I do have increased damage modifiers on some of my accessory slots. Thanks for the help Dankm3m3 (talk) 23:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
