Not to be confused with the Hardmode Phasesabers, which are crafted from Phaseblades.
Using a Blue Phaseblade to attack a Target Dummy.

A Phaseblade is a pre-Hardmode broadsword. There are (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) seven / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) six different color variations with identical statistics, with the color determined by the type of gem used to craft it. All Phaseblades emit a small amount of light when swung.

The Phasesaber is the Hardmode upgrade of the Phaseblade, being directly crafted from it.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Tips

  • The different colors can be used to differentiate teams in PvP games.
  • Despite all Phaseblades having identical stats, the Purple Phaseblade is usually the easiest and fastest to acquire, as Amethysts are the most common gems.

Trivia

  • Both the weapon's visual appearance and its sound effect bear a striking resemblance to the fictional energy sword lightsaber featured in the American epic space-opera media franchise Star Wars. This reference is further reinforced by the requirement of crystals and gems in the crafting of Phaseblades and Phasesabers, alluding to the colored kyber crystals which are used in the construction of lightsabers.
  • The Phaseblade can be considered the Meteorite-tier ore sword, due to there being no other designated "Meteorite sword", and the fact that it requires Meteorite Bars to craft.
