"Gender" Vs. "Sex"

This might sound pretty odd to native English speakers, but my native language (German) doesn't have (dedicated) separate words for the more social gender and the biological sex. Wikipedia explains gender as "characteristics may include biological sex". So my question to the community is this: In your personal understanding as an enjoyer of Terraria, does a "Gender Change Potion" also alter a character's biological sex? I'm not looking for perfectly scientific answers. I'm just curious about personal views on the matter and want to gain a better understanding of that aspect of the English language. --87.98.156.68 20:44, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Trans pride flag

I also agree with the idea that the potion isn't related to the trans pride flag,the pink is a different shade,and there is not enough white for it to be a "Color" of the flask rather than just a particle effect,I think if the developers wanted to make a reference to the pride flag they wouldn't be coy enough to make it this obtuse,it would have just been the transgender flag as the bottle,clear as day. In my opinion the potion is pink and blue for the same reason the helix around your character is pink and blue,because they're the colours associated with male and female,which your character is switching between. 86.122.158.103 10:51, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Transgender flag

It literally isn't a transgender flag. It contains no white. This trivia only exists to force the trans agenda upon readers. Developers have confirmed that the only correlation between the two is that they both reference traditional male and female colors. The item itself does not reference the pride flag, and thus no more reversions should be done. --AmsterWikis (talk) 19:16, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

As a followup to what Amster said, I'd like to clear some things up:

• Consensus does matter. Quoting WP:Consensus: "Decisions on Wikipedia are primarily made by consensus, which is accepted as the best method to achieve Wikipedia's goals [...]. Consensus on Wikipedia does not require unanimity (which is ideal but rarely achievable), nor is it the result of a vote." This applies not just to Wikipedia, but to the Terraria Wiki as well.
• There is no "agenda" being forced upon anyone. Please be aware that such a rhetoric actively harms trans people's everyday lives. The Wikipedia articles about Transphobia, Violence against transgender people, and Transgender inequality are good starting points to learn more about the tremendous real-life struggles they face.
