Talk:Luminite Drills
Stardust Drill stats is oddly different from the other luminite drills, but it seems consistent across the wiki, is this information correct? Also, I checked ingame and it had +2 range, so I'll assume if it was correct, maybe it has been changed? FunAlways (talk) 05:05, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- A short test in 1.4 seems to show that Stardust is identical to others, but we'd need to look at the code, and I'm not comfortable with .NET enough to try Fiqusonnick (talk) 06:13, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

- The stats are not near-identical, however; basic testing demonstrates that the drills have a superior base tool speed, as with other drills in 1.4.0.1; if you're going to mess with the tool speed, be sure to not do a simple copy paste job without verifying what the code says the speed is. 110.143.1.198 09:42, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

- Was the stats actually different though in 1.3? If it is, is putting a note somewhere necessary, since mobile/console aren't 1.4 yet (even though they are unobtainable pre-1.4 anyway)? Also, Mining speed needs an update too since the table still lists stardust as distinct (but I have no idea how to edit it considering mobile/console versions). Incorrect mining speed?
When testing luminite drills (specifically a quick stardust drill) side-by-side with a light shroomite digging claw, there didn't seem to be a difference in mining speed, most noticeable when digging straight down, so the drills appear to have a mining speed of 3.
I double checked to make sure I didn't have any mining speed-affecting buffs/accessories (celestial shell, ancient chisel) but I didn't see any. Is there something I'm missing? Levelworld (talk) 06:09, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
