How long that thing is?

Just sayin, but according to article, this event lasts one day. Well, I am playing now, and it's second night already. People on steam community are saying that it lasts even four days... soo? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.78.224.44 at 07:20, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

As far as I can tell, its duration isn't exactly time-based. It's absolutely certain that it ends shortly after defeating King Slime, but I've seen slime rains go on for days on end if they're ignored. Having died to King Slime during a rain, it's possible for it to continue on until the slime kill cap is reached and even spawn another King Slime, though this may be related to expert mode or multiplayer, so it's difficult to say for certain. What happens if the player's not equipped to survive and complete the rain is up in the air as well.
In either case, its duration is definitely not "one day or night". Gearzein (talk) 13:59, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
The current "24 hours" is incorrect and I'm working to fix that, along with a couple other issues. It looks like the length is always 54000 ticks (15 hours) in multiplayer (Main.netMode == 1), but is random between 32400 and 54000 ticks (9-15 hours) in single player. It also appears that exiting and rejoining the world in single player or restarting a world in a multiplayer server re-initializes the counter to a random time, potentially making it possible to artificially extend the event indefinitely with frequent exiting and rejoining. In light of these discrepancies, it's probably reasonable to just call it 9-15 hours and not sweat the details. Critcodedtuna (talk) 20:38, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

How likely?

How likely is it for this event to happen? What is the statistic that show how likely this will happen? User:Gufuawa12] 3:16, 10, July 2015

I don't know how to answer your question completely but I have played terraria for 9 months and I haven't had the slime rain. It is rare. Carebaer17890 (talk) 01:42, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

King Slime not spawning

I'm not sure where to report this, but King Slime spawned form me only once in one world, when the event occured for the first time. Not only won't he spawn anymore, but I don't get the 'Sticky Situation' Achievement. 88.156.132.174 02:14, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

King Slime despawning, then respawning later

What happened was that I went too high on my sky rope and King Slime despawned, but the Slime Rain did NOT end. I kept killing slimes and voila, another King Slime spawns. While I was fighting him, the rain finally ended. Has anyone else encountered this before? HnZ88 (talk) 08:07, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Haven’t had it happen before, but I think I may be able to explain it; you may have gotten into quite the rare situation.
  1. King Slime summons, but despawns, meaning the Slime Rain could glitch and keep going, or this may be intended (this part is a bit foggy, not sure about the mechanics here)
  2. Slime Rain commences
  3. King Slime summons after more Slimes are dead
  4. Slime Rain’s timer goes out
  5. Slime Rain ends, leaving King Slime there
Hope this helps! —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk」 23:41, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Which slimes count to spawn king slime?

I was in my farm deep underground (Tim spawns there) and missed the slime rain announcement. Just killing normal cavern enemies, including the usual lot of black and mother slimes and suddenly King Slime appears, complete with slime rain end message after dispatching him. There were no blue/green/purple slimes down there at all. Do all slime types contribute to the counter? 95.90.211.220 19:40, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Most of them. See the first bullet point in the Notes section: "Only Blue Slimes (including those spawned from a Slime Statue) and any of its variants that share the primary NPC ID value of 1 count toward the event total: Green Slime, Pinky, Baby Slime, Black Slime, Purple Slime, Red Slime, Yellow Slime, and Jungle Slime." --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:36, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
Yikes, complete reading failure, thanks for helping me out 95.90.211.220 16:20, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Remove slimer from achievements in this page

remove slime due to this being only on pc, console, and mobile and not on old gen consoles — Preceding unsigned comment added by Battlebeedaangelbee (talk • contribs) at 19:19, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

i play console and i still somehow get old gen console achievements even though i play on xbox one. I also get the slime rain event. I might not be the only one with this issue, but if it is something unique to me then it makes sense to delete it. Thirteen13.exe | Message Wall | Contribs 13:57, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
