Ocram

Could Ocram be a Hardmode Brain of Cthulhu? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.61.138 at 22:06, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Officially there's no connection between the two. Any that the player draws is personal inference. Gearzein (talk) 22:36, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Phantoon

Look at this and tell me Brain of Cthulhu doesn't draw inspiration from Phantoon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t7nF9Ao95Y 24.14.214.236 (talk) 19:51, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Sure thing. One of them is a space pirate ghost and the other is a huge meaty brain already tied explicitly to another mythos. They don't look alike, they aren't fought in the same way, and there's not even a subtle hint in the information surrounding the Brain that they're in any way related. Even if you want to contend that Phantoon's design is meant to specifically be a brain (which it's not quite pulling off), "disembodied brain" is a common enough trope to say that BoC isn't built around this specific one.
More importantly, "resembling" and "drawing inspiration" are two radically different things. Resemblance isn't even notable. A claim that something is drawing inspiration is, but without word from the developers it's just speculation- usually based on resemblance. As it is, there is no indication that the Brain of Cthulhu draws inspiration from Phantoon. Gearzein (talk) 20:27, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Brain of Cthluhu Mask

As I was farming the brain of cthulu I got the mask for it on console, if someone could update the page that would be appreciated because I have no idea how to do it. Also I will probably not return to this discussion.- Flaming peach78 (Xbox console gamer) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.132.67.166 at 16:55, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

Stalactites

I can't find anything online confirm this or to exactly explain what happens but after I defeated the brain i noticed new icicle like spikes in crimson as well as platinum and other lower ores in places I had already cleared. Not sure if this is new or not and either way wondering if anything else is effected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OffaPerry (talk • contribs) at 19:49, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Brain Of Cuthulu

So when the message A horrible chill goes down your spine' appears on your screen is the brain of cuthulu randomly spawning? Follow up question, what does the message you hear screams echo around you mean when after a horrible chill goes down your spine appears? What is happening?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.77.205.71 at 15:18, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

Those messages appear when someone is breaking Crimson Hearts. They can be considered an indicator of how many more can be broken until the Brain of Cthluhu will spawn. 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 15:36, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

Coin drop isn't shown.

From fighting him recently, I know he does drop coins -- from the amounts I got, it might be a 6-gold drop, but if anybody can verify from source and put the info in, that would be excellent. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 23:00, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

Old Gen Consoles

In Terraria on all of the old gen consoles, when leaving the Crimson, the Brain of Cthulhu will not despawn but instead would keep chasing the player. I don't really now how to edit one of these. If someone could do it for me would be great. Thank you in advance Cap toad (talk) 06:37, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

Impossible in Journey with spawn rate 0

Just tried to fight BoC with spawn rate at 0 in journey mode, with difficulty on master. BoC never enters second phase once all existing creepers are defeated and therefore becomes invincible. My guess is, that some of the creepers are spawned in over time and since the spawn rate was 0, it couldn't spawn them.

I retried with normal spawn rate and it went into second phase just fine. 5.146.193.211 21:11, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Hunter Potion still works to detect Expert Brain decoys or nah? (1.4.4?)

Title (this question is something I've asked a few days ago in the Discussion for the Guide page, but I figured I might as well paste it here in the discussion for the Main Brain page). someone on discord who keeps talking with me about their terraria playthrough tried it, said it didn't help him to know which one is real. just checking if wiki is outdated, also maybe change this tip in the main Brain page if so. Just tested it on Desktop version Desktop 1.4.4.9: the potion does highlight all four brains, so this appears to be outdated. I've removed it from the article and the guide page, thanks for mentioning. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 01:21, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
