Drop rate
How was the drop rate for Demon Scythe calculated? Maybe I just have bad luck but I usually kill at least 100 demons before I get one. 172.68.46.85 07:24, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
- It's located in the Terraria source code. If you have a decompiler, you can take a look :) – Ferretwings (talk) 07:37, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Infinite Piercing
AFAICT, The Demon Scythe pierces through any number of enemies, continuing to the edge of the screen -- e.g., it can sweep one whole side on an Old One's Army fight. This is an incredibly useful thing, offhand I can only think of the Star Cannon matching it. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 17:46, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
- There are two animated gifs on the page demonstrating it hitting 5 times and then disappearing, source says the same, and I just re-checked it in-game. It does not have infinite piercing. 86.115.19.146 18:49, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
- MentalMouse42, what platform are you using? It's possible that console, mobile, or 3DS may behave differently? – Ferretwings (talk) 23:46, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
Incredibly expensive to reforge what?
This is an endgame item for pre-hardmode and for that its reforge costs are absolutely laughable. Ever reforged a Star Cannon? Why is this in the tips? 88.130.55.13 10:46, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- The tip says "inexpensive", not "expensive". – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 04:49, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

Possible reference?
Would it be reasonable to assume that the projectiles from the Demon Scythe are a reference to the projectiles summoned by Death in the Castlevania series, given that they both are scythes/sickles and they move in a similar way (nearly no movement at first and then moving at increasing speed?)
