Putrid Scent: Great item but quite underrated?

It's a shame that this item isn't combined in any way to make a more powerful one. Anyone used this along with the counter item Flesh Knuckles simultaneously? I don't think you can quite get those "perks" from any other items (even some awesome endgame items).... like, how would the Solar Flare armor perform with these two? Add "warding" and/or "menacing" prefixes? I'm loving the Psycho Knife over the Meowmere in certain situations and I really don't care much about enemies "targeting" me more (or less), bosses will be aggressive either way. I often find myself using items that other players underestimate like; preferring Strange Brew over Restoration Potion, so I just wondered if people really think about those things? --Maccentris (talk) 00:16, 24 November 2019 (UTC)

I don't consider Putrid Scent underrated. Just like with the Flesh Knuckles the stat buffs are very small, to the point where almost every other item will be better for the slot. The Emblems, the Magic Quiver and the Power Glove/Yoyo Bag are much better for general combat, the Frozen Turtle Shell/Worm Scarf are much better for defensive purposes, and Frog Leg/The double Jump Balloons/Shield of Cthulhu are all amazing in general. At the end of the day Flesh Knuckles and Putrid Scent are just a fairly insignificant accessory that you'd only use if you don't have anything else for the 6th slot, and they definitely need either a Tinker or a Buff.
