Friendly NPCs bug

The bug with killing friendly npcs still exists, but only triggers when fighting some part of plantera now it would seem. I tested this and a friend unfortunately is also having it happen to him. Not calling for changes right away, just making a note in case you all want to test this yourself if you don't believe me, seeing as i'm not a registered user. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.144.102.183 at 01:48, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

confirming a note (reverted)

the solar eruption does indeed inflict the Daybroken Debuff if you kill an enemy that spawnes smaller enemies,if you don't believe me the easiest way to test that is with a Corrupt Slime/ Star Cell. Star Cell is better because it can survive a single hit therefore dying to the debuff itself Cr4zyw4rrior (talk) 22:30, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

EDIT: now that i have tested it on a star cell with the daybreak (for a more clear result) the effect spreads to other nearby enemies but not the babies of the star cell, and then i did the same thing with the solar eruption which had a bit of a different result
when i hit the star cells they die and then the smaller cells spawn but and then they have half health and the daybroken debuff and every single time they had the debuff they also had half health so i suspect the solar eruption kills the star cells and then hits the smaller star cells before retracting back to the player
sorry about that Cr4zyw4rrior (talk) 17:24, 8 June 2019 (UTC)

Should it really be considered a Flail?

This is something that's been bothering me for a while now; the Solar Eruption never felt like a Flail to me.

All Flails in this game consist of a pseudo-projectile connected to a chain, that will quickly return to the player after hitting its maximum range, but the Solar Eruption doesn't work like this. It works more like a Spear in use (Especially the Ghastly Glaive), and its design resembles a whip rather than a Flail, especially when you imagine how a player may attack with it in a 3D game. Also, as far as I know the developers never called it a Flail.

So, unless i'm missing something, it would make more sense to have the Solar Eruption as an "Other" Melee Weapon, because currently there is no other weapon that works similarly to it. Bame66 (talk) 21:13, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Indeed, it doesn't fit the classical definition of a flail – unlike all other flails, it does not consist of an object linked to a chain, as the tip doesn't deal damage while the "chain" does. Furthermore, it doesn't fit parts of the definition of a launched flail – it can pierce and does not retract upon striking a block.
I understand why it was originally classified as a flail, because using it is reminiscent of the typical attack style of a launched flail, extending out until a maximum length and then retracting to the player. However, it is so distinctly different from all other launched and also thrown flails (little addition: the page even states in the Trivia section that "it seems to have much lower knockback than most other flails") that I support re-classifying it as "other". --Rye Greenwood (talk) 02:39, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Almost two weeks later, no one seems to disagree with this, therefore I'm going to reclassify it as an "Other". Feel free to revert my edits if you disagree, just explain yourself either here or in the edit summary. Bame66 (talk) 12:25, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
